Your role

As an Experienced NPI Engineer, you play a crucial role in our commercial and operational growth phase. You are the bridge between the potential customer, Sales, and Engineering. When a complex request for quotation (RFQ) arrives from a prospect, you dive into the technical specifications, designs, and manufacturability requirements.

Converting the customer's challenges and wishes into an optimal production strategy and a watertight cost calculation. In doing so, you do not only look at current figures, but oversee the entire process from prototype to series production.

Additionally, you support production in realizing and qualifying prototypes and pilots towards volume manufacturing, while carrying the technical responsibility. You are also co-responsible for the establishment of a production line, technical release of new product documentation, and acceptance regarding manufacturability.

Important characteristics for fulfilling the role of NPI Engineer are:

• Analyzing customer wishes: Assessing complex technical issues and designs from potential customers for manufacturability (Design for Manufacturing);
• Preparing calculations: Calculating costs, lead times, required tooling, and hours for high-tech or industrial components/systems;
• Collaborating: Interacting intensively with Sales, Supply Chain, and Production to determine the most efficient production route;
• You are the production technical point of contact during customer contact;
• Analyzing drawings, sketches, photos, or CAD models to arrive at a process plan for the fabrication of modules and systems.
• Drafting specifications for required production tooling and coordinating their execution;
• Close collaboration with Manufacturing engineer.
