The role

As Factory Engineer Space, you are responsible for the setup, support, and continuous improvement of the assembly process for complex mechatronic systems and modules for space applications. You are the connecting link between assembly, engineering, project teams, and customers, ensuring that production processes run optimally. You play an important role in the manufacturability, quality assurance, and process optimization of products that are ultimately deployed in satellite systems and other Space programs. In doing so, you work in an environment where error-free production is essential and where technical challenges, innovation, and precision converge.

You work closely with assembly, engineering, logistics, and customers and are continuously working to increase product quality, efficiency, and predictability within our Space projects. You are asked to look at product design at an early stage to provide feedback from a manufacturability perspective & taking production parameters into account to mitigate risks in the resulting production process. The daily solving, or even better, preventing of technical challenges in the operation is an important part of your work. In this way, you contribute to the successful realization of high-quality products that meet the strict requirements of the international aerospace industry. Additionally, you deal with:

• Setting up, supporting, and continuously improving assembly processes and documentation with a focus on quality, progress, and efficiency.
• Initiating and executing technical improvement plans.
• Acting as a sparring partner for assembly, engineering, suppliers, and customers.
• Drafting, managing, and optimizing assembly steps and production routings within the ERP system.
• Monitoring product quality, delivery reliability, and lead times.
• Optimizing production processes for complex Space products and subsystems.
• Implementing and facilitating Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
• Contributing to a controlled and predictable production environment that meets the high quality standards within the aerospace sector.
