Cost Engineer

• A salary between € 4,500 and € 5,500 gross per month, depending on experience

What will you do?

As a Cost Engineer, you are responsible for setting up, managing, and improving the cost structure of our products and systems. You ensure that costs are reliable, up-to-date, and well-substantiated. In doing so, you provide direct input for selling prices, margins, and strategic decisions. This is not a role in which you only perform calculations. Instead, you will play an important role in further professionalizing and automating the costing process within VDL Jansen. You will interact daily with colleagues from Engineering, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Production, and Management. As a result, you are right in the middle of the organization and have influence on much more than just numbers. Your responsibilities include:

In this role, you are the connecting link between technology, data, and commerce.

• Preparing and maintaining cost calculations for products and systems
• Analyzing material, production, and purchasing costs
• Translating costs into selling prices and margins
• Developing and improving calculation models and automations
• Identifying deviations and opportunities for cost savings
• Setting up management information, analyses, and reports
• Collaborating with various departments to collect reliable data and improve processes
• Analyzing post-calculations and historical data to further improve future calculations
