Knowledge of primary technology is a plus.
  • At least 5-10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Able to make good problem analyses for the further qualitative development of the solution direction for bottlenecks in the electricity grid on a technical, planning, and financial level.
  • Demonstrable experience with quality assurance in combination with various contract forms and you can well grasp interests and technical solutions. You have knowledge of and experience with infrastructural projects and project risk management.

The role

Will you help shape the energy system of the future? Do you want to make an active contribution to our mission in making energy sources more sustainable in the national energy transition? Do you feel the excitement build when you know that the work you do daily helps everyone in the Netherlands and ensures that no one is left in the dark?

Then come join our team and let's take on the challenge together!

The energy transition requires smart, decisive professionals. The Project Developer provides widely supported advice and recommendations on policy, standards, and practices within their own field of expertise to improve organizational performance and efficiency. They support informed
decision-making by providing insights, solutions, and best practices that align with the context of their own field and the business units within their own area of work, so that the Netherlands can also rely on a reliable electricity grid tomorrow. Will you contribute to this as a Project Developer?

TenneT's North West Greenfield and /or Brownfield Netherlands region is responsible for onshore (new build) projects in the Netherlands for the province of Noord-Holland. Our project portfolio will continue to grow in the coming years. To realize our projects on time, within budget, in connection with others, and with excellent quality, you and your TenneT colleagues are working hard to adapt and expand the current electricity grid so that we are prepared for all changes.

The projects of the North-West Region focus on the realization of existing and new high-voltage stations and high-voltage connections (150kV and 380 kV electricity transmission network) in the country. We are looking for project developers for, among other things, our projects in Noord-Holland and the sustainability efforts in and around Amsterdam.

What you'll do

As a Project Developer, you contribute to the further development and implementation and/or realization of the initiated projects to guarantee a future-proof and robust infrastructure. To ensure this:

  • You are co-responsible for close cooperation in multidisciplinary teams, including with the Functional Design Developer to work out the "What" (e.g., the grid technical bottleneck) and with the Portfolio Manager to establish the scope (size and planning) of the initiated projects (involved in the further development of the "How"). You ensure consistency with policy documents, requirements programs, specifications, and other projects.
  • Based on the established search area - a global delimitation for stations and/or connections within a certain radius of a location - you are co-responsible for the further development of technical and planning feasibility studies. You work closely with the project leader to ensure total system integration. As a project developer, you transcend individual projects, maintain an overview of the entire portfolio, and fulfill a connecting role between the various stakeholders, disciplines, and project teams.
  • During the construction and commissioning phase (specifically for BF&M), you are the driver to organize frequent moments with the involved project leaders and relevant process-oriented functions (end-to-end) to discuss bottlenecks and dependencies. This is to promote (optimal) cooperation, joint and integrated chain priority, and the achievement of shorter lead times within the end-to-end process.
  • You coordinate Safety & Health (S&H) within complex infrastructure projects. In the role of safety coordinator design and construction phase, you steer towards safe design choices, connect involved parties, and ensure compliance with the construction process provisions from the Working Conditions Act (Arbowet).
  • You supervise compliance with relevant standards, laws, and regulations and best practices within TenneT, to ensure high-quality and compliant results.
  • You act as a reliable advisor and offer professional expertise to internal and/or external stakeholders, whereby knowledge is actively shared.

Your profile and background

  • As a Project Developer, you possess excellent communication skills (Dutch and English) and can formulate clearly both in writing and during presentations. You are aware of your surroundings, are persuasive, have sharp judgment, and are decisive. You are a bridge builder who can switch between what the department needs and what the environment can offer.

Competencies

  • You are focused on collaboration and, for your team, focused on looking beyond your own interests in the direction that will benefit the project;
  • You love project dynamics;
  • You are result-oriented;
  • You have a well-developed sense of political relations;
  • You are a connector where necessary, and independent where possible.
  • Stakeholder management: you build and maintain relationships that are crucial for success in a multidisciplinary context and for achieving results.

TenneT offers you the chance to contribute to a sustainable energy future. Together with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders, you will work on innovative solutions that make the energy transition possible. With us, you will get the space to develop your talent and work in an environment where your growth is central. We encourage initiative and give you the space to come up with new ideas.

Therefore, for full-time employment, we offer you:

  • A permanent contract with a two-month probationary period, based on 32 to 40 hours per week.
  • A salary in scale 9: €4816 to €9472 per month with 8% holiday allowance and 6% year-end bonus.
  • A solid pension via ABP: we pay 70% of your premium.
  • 43 vacation days per year.

Please note you work at 2 locations, Gouda and Amsterdam
