What we're looking for

  • Certification as a Delegated Agent (Delegated Authority Diploma).
  • Relevant professional experience in the field of delegated authority, underwriting operations, insurance operations, or a similar field.
  • Thorough understanding of delegated authority business models, controls, and governance.
  • Familiar with developments in the Dutch delegated authority market (such as NVGA Protocol 2.0, AFD definitions, etc.).
  • Demonstrable experience in effectively collaborating with multidisciplinary stakeholders (Underwriting, Sales, Operations, and Technology).
  • Good knowledge of audit, risk, and compliance aspects.
  • Strong skills in execution, planning, and project realization.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.

The role

The Delegated Authority Project Manager supports the execution, implementation, and ongoing management of delegated authority-related activities in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg. The role includes responsibility for setting up new authorities and ensures that associated delegated authority activities are set up efficiently and compliantly, in line with the underwriting, operational, and legal standards of Hiscox and the respective country where the authority is based.

Reporting to the Delegated Authority Lead Europe, this role focuses on practical execution, coordination, and implementation. This involves close collaboration with the Underwriting, Sales, Operations, and Technology departments to implement agreed delegated authority solutions, including data delivery processes, any API-based integrations, and manual processes. The Delegated Authority Project Manager plays a key role in adhering to established standards, controls, and best practices within the various countries.

What you'll do

  • Carrying out activities for administrative setup, such as modification, restoration, cancellation, and improvement of delegated agents as assigned by the Delegated Authority Lead.
  • Supporting the implementation of delegated authority arrangements and agreements in accordance with underwriting, operational, and legal requirements.
  • Collaborating closely with Underwriting, Sales, Operations, and Technology teams to enable compliant delegated authority solutions.
  • Supporting the operational execution of delegated authority activities via data delivery processes, system integrations, or manual workflows.
  • Consistently applying established delegated authority standards, controls, and governance frameworks within different countries.
  • Contributing to audits, supervisory reviews, and other activities related to governance.
  • Identifying, managing, and escalating operational risks, issues, and dependencies that impact the execution of delegated authority activities.
  • Monitoring project progress and preparing reports for governance and decision-making forums.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of delegated authority processes and working methods.
  • Acting as the daily operational point of contact for delegated authority-related topics within cross-functional initiatives.
