Requirements

What we're looking for

To start working as an agriculture and horticulture auditor, you need at least a Bachelor's degree (HBO / HAS) focused on agriculture and horticulture (or similar) and at least 2 years of experience in the field. Furthermore, we are flexible regarding the number of hours you wish to work; this can range from 24 to 40 hours.

A crop protection application license or a Lead Auditor qualification is also a plus, but not a must. We can also facilitate these for you through SGS.

Pay & benefits

What you'll get

We offer a varied position with a lot of freedom and opportunities for personal development. In addition, you will receive the following from us:

  • A solid induction program with opportunities for development within the field;
  • A car;
  • Laptop and phone;
  • 25 vacation days + 7 ATV days;
  • Participation in a shared pension scheme with a fixed contribution of 6%;
  • Participation in the SGS sports and cycling plan.

The role

Do you get energy from collaborating with people, do you find it interesting to take a look behind the scenes at various companies, and are you naturally curious? Then we have the perfect challenge for you!

As an agriculture and horticulture auditor, you will perform inspections at our customers who are active in the agricultural sector or who are connected to agricultural products. These inspections are carried out for the benefit of schemes such as GlobalG.A.P, PlanetProof, Barometer Duurzame Bloemist, Food Safety Certificates, and social audits (GRASP). Currently, Global G.A.P is one of the most widely used schemes.

The most prominent areas checked during these inspections are matters regarding crop protection, fertilization, energy, hygiene, labor, track & trace, labeling, packaging, and the origin of raw materials. This means that you hold an independent position and, with a customer-oriented attitude, can perform the inspections to assess whether the customer complies with the scheme.

The inspections are held at the customer's location. In addition to performing these inspections, you will also write reports on the findings. You often complete these reports immediately at the customer's site, meaning you often do not have separate reporting days. Finally, you do not need to worry about your own schedule; the inspections and audits are scheduled by the planners.

How you'll work

In your role as an agriculture and horticulture auditor, you will travel to customers and can also complete much of the reporting from home. Depending on where you live, we try to schedule your customers around that region as much as possible.

Summary

  • Do you have a completed Bachelor's degree (HBO / HAS) focused on agriculture and horticulture;
  • Are you available for 24 to 40 hours per week (flexible scheduling);
  • Are you customer-oriented, analytical, accurate, and decisive;
  • Do you have knowledge of and insight into cultivation and production chains in the agricultural sector;
  • Do you master the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written;
  • Do you establish contact easily and have excellent communication skills;
  • Do you quickly master systems and are well-versed in administration;
  • Do you have a flexible attitude regarding working hours and inspection locations.
