The role

SGS Nederland B.V. has organized its services into 5 business lines, of which SGS Industrial deals with various technical inspections of industrial equipment. The NDT department inspects and monitors technical installations. From above-ground storage tanks to pipelines, from supervising the new construction of factories to inspections during plant shutdowns. Our NDT employees examine critical weld joints and determine wall thickness measurements in structures, plate, or pipe material.

Key clients of our activities  can be found in petrochemistry, in the construction of offshore platforms and pipelines. Structural construction, piping construction, storage terminals, and general industry.

What you'll do

As a junior welding inspector, you are responsible for inspecting weld joints. You work in a team and perform various non-destructive material tests. Examples of non-destructive material testing are X-ray, ultrasonic, penetrant, and magnetic testing.

In this position, you will also be involved in the following activities:

  • You report the inspection findings;
  • You communicate your inspection findings with the client at the place of execution;
  • You ensure a safe way of working in a often complex working environment;
  • You conduct yourself representatively and are also alert to new potential customers.
