Structural Loss Adjuster Major & Complex Loss (MCL)

Rotterdam or Amstelveen | Full-time | Netherlands | Regularly on location

Do you want to apply your structural expertise to large-scale losses where technical insight, clear communication, and human understanding come together?

As a Structural Loss Adjuster Major & Complex Loss, you will investigate and manage large and complex structural losses. Files are technically and financially challenging and often have a major impact on the individuals and organizations involved. With an independent and well-substantiated judgment, you bring clarity and help parties move forward after a significant event.

"What makes claims expertise at Sedgwick so special is that no two days are the same. Working with a specialized team of professionals, we work on complex claims where people, emotions, and interests require attention, understanding, and decisiveness. Our strength lies precisely in that dynamism. We bring calm to complex situations by acting quickly, communicating clearly, and carefully managing expectations. Claims expertise at Sedgwick is not just about technical knowledge, but above all about creating trust in an environment where new challenges constantly arise."

- Michiel, Operational Director Expertise Benelux

What you'll do

In the case of large-scale losses, there is a need for calm, overview, and expertise. Using your structural expertise, you investigate what happened, determine the damage, and translate complex information into clear conclusions for clients and other involved parties.

Concretely, this means:

  • Independently handling large, complex, and often multidisciplinary structural loss files.
  • Investigating the cause, nature, and extent of losses and carefully recording the findings.
  • Determining damage amounts and advising on possibilities to prevent or limit further damage.
  • Preparing clear reports that enable clients to make well-founded decisions.
  • Monitoring progress, quality, and expectations, and maintaining contact with insurers, clients, contractors, and other involved parties.
  • Expanding client relationships, sharing specialist knowledge, and contributing to the further development of fellow experts.

When a file requires it, international travel may be part of the position.

What you bring

For this senior position, we are looking for someone who stands firm in complex technical files, communicates clearly, and takes ownership. Not every box needs to be perfectly checked. Decisive factors are relevant expertise, professional judgment, and the ability to create trust with various interlocutors.

A good foundation for this position consists of:

  • A completed relevant HBO or WO degree, for example in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Hydraulic Engineering.

Why choose Sedgwick?

Within Sedgwick, you will receive the freedom and trust to work independently on complex files. Your expertise is taken seriously and there is room to further deepen professional knowledge, share experiences with colleagues, and contribute visibly to the quality of service.
