You have at least 3 to 8 years of experience in new business sales or business development, with demonstrable affinity with cybersecurity. This may have been built at a security service provider, but also, for example, at a security vendor, IT service provider, or another technical B2B environment — more important than the exact employer is that you understand the profession and can talk about it independently with a CFO, CISO, or IT manager.
You feel at home at the executive level and can switch between strategic conversation and technical detail. You are curious about what is happening under the hood of an organization and ask the questions that others skip. Crucial in this role: In a market where decision-making is moving faster and faster, you know how to quickly build trust and credibility by getting to the core of the issue more quickly.

Strong communication and negotiation skills in Dutch and English
An independent, structured way of working and a healthy dose of entrepreneurship

Northwave makes organizations digitally resilient. With 275+ specialists from Utrecht, Leipzig, Stockholm, and Brussels, we combine ethical hacking, behavioral psychology, and security management into one integral approach. We work 24/7 for clients who cannot afford to have their digital operations come to a standstill. From mid-corporate to listed companies, from healthcare to manufacturing.
As a New Business Manager, you are often the first face a Northwave prospect sees. You open doors at organizations that take their security issues seriously, and you translate their risks into a suitable combination of our services. No scripts, no funnel-chasing, but real conversations with CFOs, CIOs, CISOs, and IT managers who understand the impact of an incident all too well.
Sales cycles in cybersecurity have become shorter, and with them, the window of opportunity to truly convince a client. This means that you must build credibility and trust within a relatively short period of time. Not by pitching hard, but by quickly demonstrating that you understand what a client is truly struggling with. This is a role for someone who understands the subject matter and uses that to get to the core more quickly.
You guide the entire sales process. From the first conversation in which you bring the question behind the question to the surface, to the moment you are sitting at the table signing the contract. You know when to involve a colleague from Business Security, the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT), or the SOC to strengthen your case, and you carefully hand over clients to Account Management after conversion, so that the promise you made is also fulfilled.
Acquiring new clients in the Benelux and building sustainable relationships
Translating risks and client inquiries into concrete security propositions
Leading the full sales process, from initial contact to contract
Bringing the right internal specialists to the table at the right moment
Building a healthy pipeline and keeping your forecast sharp
Conducting warm handovers to Account Management after conversion
HBO (Higher Professional Education) level of work and thought; a relevant education is a plus

You work in a close-knit, successful commercial team of approximately 20 people, each with their own focus within our portfolio. You report to the Sales Benelux team lead and work daily with Inside Sales, Marketing, and Account Management. We work toward one group target and grant each other success. Cybersecurity is a profession in which reputation is everything, and we expect that from the way we sell as well.
