Job type: Internship

Education level: HBO; WO

In short

Are you looking for a challenging internship in which you make a direct contribution to the financial development of KLM? We are looking for an enthusiastic intern who not only creates insight from data but also thinks along about how processes can be designed to be smarter, more efficient, and more innovative.

What will you do?

During this internship, you will work at the intersection of Finance, Data, and Business. You will develop dashboards for both Corporate Finance and the KLM business, provide data-driven insights, and support financial analyses and process improvements. You will be fully involved within the Real Estate & Facility Contracting (RE&FC) Control team and will be given the space to make an impact with your own ideas.

You will be involved in:

  • Analyzing financial data and identifying opportunities for process improvement, including through the use of AI;
  • Developing, optimizing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards and management reports for our teams and our customers;
  • Translating complex data into clear insights and concrete advice for management;
  • Investigating how AI and new technologies can contribute to more efficient financial processes;
  • Supporting the RE&FC Control team with forecasting, budgeting, and reporting processes;
  • Presenting analyses, dashboards, and recommendations to stakeholders within the organization;
  • Collaborating with colleagues from Finance, Procurement, Real Estate, and the business to support data-driven decision-making.

Where will you land?

The Finance organization of KLM is unique. Where else are billions invested in a new fleet, or millions spent on new maintenance hangars? Whatever ambition we want to realize, everything comes with a price tag. Fortunately, Finance is there to provide the right information, data, and insights. This makes us indispensable to the financial success of the organization.

Your seat is located in the Real Estate & Facility Contracting department at Schiphol-Oost. RE&FC is responsible for the real estate and the facility services and products of the KLM Group. The real estate (~700,000m2) varies from high-quality industrial buildings such as hangars, engine shops, and warehouses to various offices and lounges at Schiphol. Additionally, facility contracts, including company restaurants, cleaning, and uniforms, are managed for the KLM Group. You will get an insight into the entire KLM organization and will see the versatility of the company.

Your profile

You are curious, analytical, and enjoy translating complex issues into practical insights. You get energy from working with data and are continuously looking for ways to make processes smarter.

Furthermore:

  • You are following an HBO/WO education in a financial, business administration, or data-related direction (for example, Finance, Accountancy; Business Administration, Economics, or Data Science).
  • You have an affinity with data analysis and process optimization;
  • You preferably have experience with Excel and Power BI;
  • You think proactively and come up with new ideas;
  • You can work independently, but also function well in a team;
  • You possess strong communication skills;
  • You have a good command of both the Dutch and English languages;
  • You are available for at least 5 months for at least 4 days per week starting from February 2027 (start date in consultation).

What do we offer?

KLM offers you a very educational experience in a dynamic organization in which you will play an important role. You can develop yourself strongly in this internship, both personally and professionally. Additionally, this internship offers you the opportunity to build your network, as you will be sitting at the table with many different KLM employees!

Another advantage of an internship within KLM is the association by and for interns; KLM Taxibaan. This association expands your network and provides pleasant events and interesting excursions within the KLM organization. There is also an internship allowance.

Ready for your next destination?

Then don't wait any longer, and apply for the 'final boarding call' on 19-11-2026! You do not need to write a motivation letter; during your application, we will ask you several targeted questions. You will receive a message from us within two weeks after the closing date of the vacancy.

Did you know that according to research, women are less likely to apply than men if they do not meet all the job requirements? A shame. Because as far as we are concerned, 'the perfect candidate' is a myth. So, do you have the drive to still grow in certain aspects of this role? We look forward to your application.
