Technical work through which you make a sustainable difference for people
A wheelchair, mobility scooter, or hoist means freedom and independence for many people. When such an aid returns to Kersten after use, your work begins.
As a Reuse Technician for Aids, you ensure that used aids can be deployed again safely and reliably for the next client. You inspect, repair, and test aids so they can be reused by someone who needs them.
At Kersten, we handle aids sustainably. We do not automatically reject something; aids and parts that still have value are given a second life wherever possible. At Kersten, we call this Maximum Circularity: a way of working in which we reuse as much as possible and waste as little as possible. We are leaders in this. Kersten is the first organization in the medical aids industry to be certified at level 4 of the Circular Performance Ladder. With your technical craftsmanship, you contribute directly to this every day.
You work with aids that are returned from aid users and must be made ready for reuse again. You assess, clean, inspect, repair, and make aids technically ready for reuse. Your duties include:
Location: The Hague and Houten
Hours: 32-38h per week
Preparing aids for reuse is more than just fixing a defect. For every aid, you ask yourself three important questions:
Sometimes you repair an aid. Sometimes you replace parts preventatively, such as tires, brake parts, or other wear parts. And sometimes you conclude that an aid can no longer be deployed responsibly. Your technical insight makes the difference in that.
This is not a standard technician role. This is a special role for a technical man or woman who can make a difference in the field of sustainability through their craftsmanship. You have a direct influence on:
Every day you see the result of your work: an aid that, thanks to your craftsmanship, is valuable to someone else again.
This position is part of Kersten's internal flexible workforce. This means that you perform your duties at both our location in The Hague and in Houten. You work where your efforts are most needed at that moment. Therefore, we preferably seek a candidate who lives in the region between both locations and enjoys having variety in work location.
You are technically handy, work accurately, and get energy from tinkering, solving, and improving. You find it important that an aid is delivered safely and correctly.
Experience with aids is a plus, but not a requirement. We are happy to teach you the finer points of the trade.
At Kersten, you get a technical position in which you see what your work means every day. You ensure that aids can be reused safely and that clients can be helped again quickly.
Do you want to contribute to good care and satisfied customers with your administrative and communicative skills? Then we would love to meet you.
We value direct applications. Acquisition by agencies and freelancers will not be followed up.
At Kersten, we help people to live as independently as possible. We do this with mobility aids and with colleagues who make a difference every day.
Circularity is deep in our DNA. With Maximum Circularity, we make sustainability part of daily aid care. By reusing, repairing, and giving new value to aids, we build care that remains sustainable, affordable, and reliable.
