The role

At Kersten Hulpmiddelen, it is all about people. As a Workshop Technician for Assistive Devices, you ensure that aids are safe, reliable, and ready for use. In doing so, you make a direct contribution to care and the daily functioning of clients. With your technical craftsmanship, you make a difference every single day.

Do you want to use your technical craftsmanship to give people more independence, comfort, and freedom? Then this is your chance.

RTD Arnhem, part of Kersten Hulpmiddelen, develops and realizes custom solutions for people with disabilities. We ensure that clients can make optimal use of their wheelchairs, home automation, and communication equipment. Through smart individual adaptations, we align with the possibilities a person still possesses. This is how we make more possible every day.

What you'll do

As an Adaptation Technician, you make technical adjustments that have a direct impact on the daily lives of our clients. You work on unique custom solutions and translate the ideas and advice of our consultants into practical, durable, and user-friendly products.

No task is ever the same. One moment you are adjusting a wheelchair, the next you are developing a solution that allows a client to communicate independently or operate their living environment, or you are installing a seating orthosis in a wheelchair.

Naturally, the workshop is your domain, and you are responsible for the (maintenance of) the existing machinery.

In our workshop, you work with various materials and techniques, such as:

  • Woodworking
  • Metalworking
  • Plastic processing
  • Upholstery and padding
  • Assembly and construction work
  • Light electronics

The products we make consist partly of proprietary RTD solutions and partly of fully individual custom work or a combination of standard products with an adaptation. In this, you work closely with adaptation consultants and colleagues to realize the best possible solution for every client.
