Veterinary Surgeon Vacancy AniCura Stroowaert (Oud-Beijerland and Barendrecht)

For AniCura Stroowaert, we are looking for an enthusiastic companion animal veterinarian for 24-32 hours per week. You will primarily work at our location in Barendrecht, but will be part of the complete Stroowaert team.

AniCura Stroowaert consists of locations in Oud-Beijerland and Barendrecht. We work closely together as one team, allowing you to easily make use of each other's knowledge, experience, and expertise.

In Barendrecht, we offer broad primary care to dogs, cats, and other companion animals. The clinic features, among other things, digital X-ray and ultrasound, and various areas of interest are represented within the team.

For more complex diagnostics and treatments, you can rely on our location in Oud-Beijerland. There, we have extensive facilities, including CT, ultrasound, digital X-ray, hospitalization, and intensive care. Furthermore, within Stroowaert, there is a wealth of knowledge and experience in areas such as orthopedics, surgery, dentistry, and oncology.

This way, you combine the independence of working in Barendrecht with the opportunity to brainstorm with colleagues and having specialist knowledge and facilities within reach.

With us, you will get the space to practice your profession independently, build your own patient base, and further develop yourself. You will see a wide variety of primary care cases and can delve into subjects that interest you.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

• Independently performing primary care consultations.

• Diagnostics and treatment of diverse cases.

• Minor surgical procedures.

• Ultrasound and X-ray diagnostics.

• Guiding patients with chronic conditions.

• Consulting with colleagues regarding more complex cases.

• Guiding patients who require further diagnostics or treatment.

• Discussing examinations, treatment options, and prognoses with owners.

Do you have a specific interest, for example in orthopedics, surgery, ultrasound, dentistry, or oncology? Then we would love to look together at how we can further develop that. A preference or interest in orthopedics is a plus. You don't need to be able to do everything already; we find curiosity and the ambition to grow to be at least as important as experience.

Within Stroowaert, veterinarians work with various types of knowledge and experience. This allows you to easily brainstorm about a case or call in a colleague when necessary.

Does a patient need more specialist care? Then within Stroowaert, you can make use of the expertise and facilities in Oud-Beijerland. This way, you can continue to guide patients within the same organization whenever possible.

Additionally, AniCura is part of a large international network of veterinarians and specialists. This offers plenty of opportunities to share knowledge and further develop yourself.

As a veterinarian, you will participate in the shifts within Stroowaert. The locations work closely together in this regard. So you will work shifts, but no night shifts. This way, you remain involved in emergency care without working structural night shifts.

• Graduated as a veterinarian and registered in the Diergeneeskunderegister.

• Preferably already having some experience.

• Independent, but finds it pleasant to be able to brainstorm with colleagues.

• Communicatively skilled and pleasant in dealing with clients and colleagues.

• Curious and motivated to further develop yourself.

• Willing to participate in shifts, where no night shifts are expected.
