What we're looking for

Minimum HBO/Bachelor level of work and thinking in (bio)chemistry, pharmacy, Health & Life Science, safety science, or a comparable education.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience within a pharmaceutical, chemical, food, or other process industry environment.
Experience in a QA, SHE, or integrated QESH function within a regulated production environment.
Thorough knowledge of ISO 9001, IPEC cGMP/GMP, incident management, risk management, and relevant SHE laws and regulations.
Experience with conducting audits, incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implementing corrective and preventive actions.

Nice to have

Experience within an ARIE, BRZO, or other high-risk environment is a strong plus.
Strong presence on the shop floor and a natural drive to actually realize improvements.
Analytically strong, pragmatic, decisive, and result-oriented.
Affinity with AI tools, such as Microsoft Copilot.

Languages

Fluent in Dutch and English (speaking, reading, and writing).

The role

What you'll do

Ensure full compliance with the Quality Management System, SHE policy, and relevant laws and regulations.
Assess, release, and follow up on raw materials, excipients, packaging materials, and finished products, including coordinating deviation management and complaint investigations.
Organize and lead internal audits, customer audits, and certification audits.
Guarantee continuous inspection, audit, and ARIE readiness of the site.
Support ARIE obligations, permit requirements, and environmental compliance within the site
Coordinate deviations, incidents, near misses, CAPAs, change controls, and complaint investigations.
Perform root cause analyses and monitor effective corrective and preventive actions.
Lead safety walks, workplace inspections, and risk analyses and ensure timely follow-up of improvement actions.
Initiate and support programs focused on process safety, safety awareness, and behavioral safety.
Provide training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs in the areas of quality, safety, health, and environment.
Advise management and operations on QESH risks, compliance, and improvement opportunities.
Monitor and analyze QESH KPIs and report on these to management.
Actively contribute to an ESG culture by working according to company-wide Environmental, Social & Governance guidelines.
Act as a sparring partner for Operations and contribute to a culture in which quality and safety are an integral part of daily work.

As QESH Officer, you play a key role in safeguarding and continuously improving both the quality management system and the safety, health, and environmental policy of DFE Pharma Foxhol. You are a visible and proactive professional who works closely with operations and supports colleagues in performing their duties safely, compliantly, and efficiently.

Within our ARIE site, you are an important driver of a strong quality and safety culture. You identify risks, analyze deviations, investigate incidents, and translate findings into concrete improvement actions. In doing so, you know how to find the right balance between compliance, operational feasibility, and continuous improvement.

Within an international organization, you work closely with Operations, Technology, Supply Chain, and Management to ensure that our processes meet the highest standards in the areas of quality, safety, health, and environment. In this, you play an active role in maintaining and further developing management systems and compliance requirements based on, among others, IPEC cGMP, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001.

With your hands-on mentality, persuasiveness, and visibility on the shop floor, you actively contribute to a safe working environment, a robust management system, and a future-proof organization in which quality, safety, and sustainability are an integral part of daily operations.

You work within a local management team and work closely with the Operations, Supply Chain, and Technology departments.
You report hierarchically to the QA Operations Manager.
For the SHE domain, you have a functional reporting line to the Global SHE & ESG Manager.
The position is located in Foxhol (the Netherlands) at the DFE Pharma plant.
