The main component of cement is clinker. The production of clinker and therefore cement contributes 8% to total global CO2 emissions, making it more harmful than aviation, shipping, and long-distance transport combined.

For over twenty-five years, the Ecocem Group has been working on the sustainability of the cement industry by developing and producing sustainable binders for low-carbon cement, and aims to halve the global CO2 emissions of the cement industry by 2030.

As a QHSE Officer, you are the driving force behind safety, quality, health, and the environment within our organization. You are visibly present on the shop floor, support colleagues in working safely, and ensure that processes comply with laws and regulations as well as our own high quality standards.

You combine a practical approach with a sharp eye for improvements. In doing so, you work closely with production, maintenance, logistics, and management to further build upon a safe working environment and a strong culture of improvement.

· Monitoring compliance with laws and regulations in the field of Quality, Health, Safety & Environment.

· Identifying, analyzing, and following up on safety risks, incidents, and near-misses.

· Carrying out and supervising risk analyses, internal audits, and workplace inspections.

· Coordinating corrective and preventive measures.

· Organizing toolbox meetings and increasing safety awareness within the organization.

· Advising and supporting managers and employees in the field of QHSE.

· Maintaining and further developing the quality management system.

· Drafting and improving procedures, work instructions, and registrations.

· Monitoring QHSE KPIs and reporting on performance and improvement actions.

· Supporting internal and external audits and contributing to continuous process improvement.

· MBO+ or HBO working and thinking level, preferably in the direction of Integrated Safety Science, Environmental Science,

Quality Management, or a technical education.

· Experience within a QHSE, HSE, quality, or operational role.

· Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations in the fields of safety, environment, and quality.

· Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 is a plus.

· Good communication skills in Dutch and preferably also English.

· A proactive, independent, and result-oriented attitude.
