Employment conditions:
• Salary between €3,900 and €5,300 gross per month (full-time), depending on experience and suitability for the role;
• A working week of 32 to 38 hours, 5% end-of-year bonus, 10% bonus (based on company results), 8% holiday allowance, and a pension scheme;
• Travel allowance of €0.23 per km (max. 30 km one way) or a train pass;
• 200 hours of leave per year (based on full-time employment), with the possibility to buy or sell up to 40 extra hours;

The role

Job description
As a Technology Specialist, you are the technological expert within our cheese factory in Steenderen. You work daily on understanding, mastering, and improving the interaction between raw material, process, and product. By analyzing data, monitoring processes, and leading improvement projects, you contribute to stable production, consistent product quality, and optimal factory performance. You analyze product and process data, identify opportunities for improvement, and investigate deviations to realize structural solutions. In doing so, you utilize structured problem-solving methodologies and ensure that improvements are sustainably secured within the organization. Additionally, you supervise trial productions, implement process improvements, and support the factory in further strengthening process control and operational excellence. You work closely with production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and other disciplines within the factory. In this role, you have a direct impact on food safety, product quality, yield, and efficiency. Thanks to your expertise, processes become more reliable, losses are reduced, and we can continue to provide our customers with high-quality cheese products.

What we ask

2-5 years of work experience in a technological role;
Minimum HBO (Higher Professional Education) working and thinking level, for example obtained through a completed HBO or academic degree in the field of food, chemical, or biotechnology;
Application-oriented, pragmatic attitude with a strong dose of curiosity;
You understand the backgrounds of processes and raw materials in relation to product properties;
You understand the relationship between product properties and applications;
Communicatively skilled, proactive, result-oriented, analytical, team player;
Good command of both the Dutch and English language, in speech and writing.

About the company & team

You are part of the multisite Technology & Operational Excellence team for the Balkbrug, Marum, and Steenderen locations. The team supports the factories in improving product quality, process control, operational performance, and continuous improvement. Within this function, you will work from the cheese factory in Steenderen and report to the Manager Technology & Operational Excellence. You work daily with operators, team leaders, quality specialists, maintenance engineers, and other staff departments within the factory. Additionally, you work intensively with colleagues from other FrieslandCampina locations. By sharing knowledge, exchanging best practices, and jointly developing standards, you contribute to the further professionalization of Technology and Operational Excellence within the organization. In this way, you combine the impact of a local specialist role with the strength of a broader multidisciplinary network.
