What we're looking for

  • A completed HBO or WO degree in a technical or maritime direction (e.g., Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or Technical Business Administration).
  • At least 8 years of experience as a Project Manager, of which at least 3 years within high-end yacht building, refit, or luxury shipbuilding.
  • Excellent command of the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written.
  • Experience with budgeting, reporting lines, and change processes.
  • A customer-oriented, stress-resistant, and solution-oriented attitude.

Your skills:

  • You are process-oriented, able to create a vision and have a helicopter view to translate it pragmatically and operationally.
  • Strong in coaching, decision-making and collaboration.
  • You are focused on collaboration, both internally and externally, and you have an eye for the various interests involved.

You do this together with the owner and a top team of professionals. Together, you will elevate the yacht to the most modern standards of luxury and technology. As a Project Manager Refit at Royal van Lent, you are the pivot in these exclusive projects. You breathe maritime passion, always maintain an overview, and strive for nothing less than pure perfection.

What you'll do

As a Project Manager Refit, you are responsible from A to Z for the success of large-scale and prestigious refit projects. You are the central point of contact for the owner, their representatives, and the crew.

  • Project Management: You lead multidisciplinary project teams (engineering, production, and subcontractors) and monitor the schedule, quality, and budget.
  • Client Relations: You build a bond of trust with international clients and translate their exclusive wishes into concrete technical solutions.
  • Commercial & Financial: You are responsible for progress reports, scope changes, and the final financial delivery of the project.
  • Innovation: You apply the latest, sustainable technologies to prepare existing superyachts for the future.

You are a natural leader with a strong personality. You communicate smoothly at all levels - from management and demanding owners to the skilled tradespeople on the shipyard floor.
