The work you do is reflected in the final product. Every installation, every connection, and every detail you work on becomes part of a unique yacht. That brings responsibility with it, but above all, pride.
At De Vries Scheepsbouw Makkum, the jewel of the Frisian economy, we build exceptional Feadships: world-class yachts, built entirely to the customer's wishes and finished to perfection. From our modern shipyard on the IJsselmeer, we proudly work on projects up to 120 meters. Every detail counts, and everyone's craftsmanship contributes to the final result. Together, we realize yachts that garner admiration worldwide. That is your contribution to the construction of a Feadship.
As a Pipefitter within the Assembly department, you will work on complex piping systems aboard entirely custom-built superyachts. Together with installation technicians, small-bore piping fitters, and outfitting fitters, you ensure that technical installations are correct down to the last detail.
You will be involved in the installation and assembly of, among others, fuel, cooling water, and bilge systems. In doing so, you will work with high-quality materials such as stainless steel, steel, and cupronickel. The piping is supplied as prefab, after which you ensure accurate installation on board.
Practically, this means you will be involved in the installation and fitting of piping, the making, adjusting, and welding of piping systems, the installation of fittings, and the making and mounting of brackets. No standard projects; you work on technical installations that demand craftsmanship, precision, and technical insight every single time.
You have technical insight and feel at home in an environment where accuracy and quality are important. Ideally, you have already gained experience within a technical working environment, but even if you have just completed a training program or are looking for a work-study program, we would love to get in touch with you.
Reading technical drawings and diagrams comes naturally to you, and you understand that good piping requires precision. You enjoy working together with colleagues and you take responsibility for your work. In this way, you actively contribute to the collective final result.
Do you recognize yourself in this and do you want to work on technically challenging projects within superyacht construction? Then we would love to meet you.
You will enter an environment where craftsmanship is central. There, you will work on technically complex projects with high demands for quality and precision. In addition, you will receive a lot of responsibility, room to develop yourself, and the opportunity to help build unique projects within superyacht construction.
