The role

From technician to office? Put your technical knowledge to use for the most beautiful yachts in the world!
Do you work as a technician in water treatment, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or pool technology? And would you like to apply your practical experience in a technical office role? Then this could be a great next step!

What you'll do

This is what you will do
The request for a swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, or spa on board a yacht is received by the project manager. Then, you will get to work on it. You will convert the request into a P&ID, after which you will make an initial calculation and assist in preparing the quotation. Does the customer have further comments? Then you will adjust the design until everything is correct and the customer agrees. Once the design is final, you will order the materials that the technicians can work with.

You will work under the guidance and responsibility of the project leader. So, you are never alone. Together, you will ensure that the technicians are well-prepared to work, the right materials are present on time, and everyone knows what needs to be done. And are you thinking, "But I have never made a schematic or a calculation before"? Don't worry! You don't need to be able to do everything immediately. More importantly, you have technical insight and the right motivation. We are happy to teach you the rest.

How you'll work

Most of the time, you will work at our office in Nunspeet. You will regularly walk into the workshop, where our colleagues build the skids. Sometimes you will visit a yacht at a shipyard in the Netherlands, for example to measure an installation. Two to three times a year, you will travel abroad for a job. These kinds of jobs are especially possible at the beginning of the sailing season (April/May) and at the end (October).

What you bring

Your most important tasks:

  • Further developing the provided design and making it ready for execution.

  • You perform installation calculations and have them checked.

  • Preparing calculations and quotations.

  • You request quotations from suppliers.

  • Ordering materials.

  • Thinking along about practical solutions.

You are a team player with a down-to-earth mentality and a flexible attitude. You enjoy working together, ask questions if you get stuck, and think in solutions. Because we work in a small team, everyone chips in where needed, so we are actually looking for a "jack-of-all-trades" in you as well. And if you join us for a beer during the Friday afternoon drinks, that is an extra plus point. 😉 Furthermore, it is great if you:

  • Have a technical background or practical experience;

  • Have completed an MBO education in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, installation technology, or a similar field;

  • Have some knowledge of the English language;

  • Have knowledge of AutoCAD (plus).

Good to know: we are not looking for the perfect CV, but above all for a colleague who fits well into our team. So, if you don't meet everything but do have interest and the will to learn? Then please let us hear from you!

Because you matter…

As a yacht engineer at Hellebrekers, you can count on:

  • annual profit sharing;

  • the possibility of collective health insurance;
