  • You are willing to work on-site (Hoogezand), offer some flexibility within a production environment, and travel internationally occasionally.

Pay & benefits

What you'll get

  • An excellent salary, depending on your experience and education.
  • A fixed thirteenth month and a bonus scheme of 0 to 7%, linked to company results.
  • 25 vacation days and 11.5 additional ADV days for a full-time employment.

  • Room for personal growth within an international and people-oriented organization.
  • An informal working atmosphere with much attention to development and collaboration.

The role

Do you want to apply technical knowledge to make machines, installations, and operations demonstrably safer? Do you get energy from practical solutions with a direct impact on the production floor? Apply and innovate with us for a safe future.

What you'll do

As a Technical Safety Specialist, you combine technical expertise with safety knowledge within a production environment. You assess machines, installations, projects, and operations, investigate incidents, and translate risks into concrete improvement measures.

You are an expert and accessible sparring partner for operators, technicians, line leaders, and project teams. In doing so, you do not only work from procedures and documentation, but you are also frequently present on the production floor. You investigate situations, listen to different perspectives, and help colleagues to make operations safe and practically feasible.

Additionally, you contribute to the safe introduction of new machines and technical projects. Occasionally, you visit suppliers abroad to assess machines for technical and safety requirements prior to delivery.

  • Incident investigation: You investigate incidents and near-misses, collect facts, analyze causes, and advise on effective improvement measures.
  • Risk assessment: You assess unsafe situations and advise on appropriate technical, organizational, and personal protective measures.
  • Machine safety: You check whether existing and new machines comply with technical safety requirements, relevant regulations, and applicable Essity standards.
  • Safe execution of work: Together with the employees performing the work, you determine how technical and high-risk activities can be carried out safely and practically.
  • Project support: You advise project leaders and technical teams on safety, technical solutions, documentation, and relevant permits.
  • Structural improvement: You support line leaders with safety issues and contribute to sustainable improvements in safety performance.
  • Supplier assessment: Where necessary, you inspect machines at international suppliers before they are shipped to the production site.

How you'll work

This position is located in the Netherlands and is preferably filled for 40 hours per week, spread over five working days. Candidates available for 32 hours per week may also apply.

Due to inspections, incident investigations, machine safety, and support on the production floor, you will work primarily on-site. The team collectively ensures support during operational hours. In the event of exceptionally urgent incidents, you may be contacted outside of regular working hours by mutual agreement.
