Do you want to make an impact in a high-tech production environment where safety, collaboration, and innovation are central? Do you enjoy working with modern control and electrical engineering and do you take ownership of processes and installations? Then this is your chance to innovate for well-being at Essity in Hoogezand.
As an Electrical Specialist, you will work in an advanced production environment where reliability, safety, and continuous improvement are essential. You are part of the Resource Support Team (RST) and work closely with the Line Leader, Mechanical Specialist, and Process Engineer. Together, you share responsibility for one or two production line(s) and ensure that people and machines perform optimally.
In this role, you are the technical expert in the field of electrical, control, and regulation technology. You monitor the technical state of the production line and play an active role in preventing and resolving malfunctions. In doing so, you support and coach operators, so that they are increasingly able to make the right diagnoses and implement improvements themselves
You take the lead in electrical engineering improvement projects and technical modifications, both at the hardware and software levels. Think of PLC programming, motion systems, and increasing the reliability and safety of installations. Equipment ownership is central: you actively involve operators in maintenance and optimization, so that ownership truly lies within the line.
Your day starts with a joint meeting in which the performance and events of the past 24 hours are discussed and priorities are determined. In the morning, you are highly visible on the shop floor, while in the afternoon you work on projects, analyses, and structural improvement initiatives.
Technical responsibility: Ensuring the electrical and control engineering state of a production line.
Malfunction analysis: Supporting the analysis, resolution, and structural prevention of malfunctions.
Coaching & development: Guiding operators in problem analysis and process improvement.
Projects & modifications: Initiating and executing electrical engineering improvements in hardware and software.
Safe working: Ensuring safe working methods and actively identifying and controlling risks.
Collaboration: Working intensively with fellow specialists and production teams within and outside the RST.
