The role

Are you a technical leader with a passion for maintenance, continuous improvement, and developing teams? In our tissue factory in Cuijk, you will get the chance to play a crucial role in maximizing the performance of our production lines!

With approximately 230 employees, we recycle, produce, and process paper into tissue products at our Cuijk production location. Advanced paper machines, 25 processing lines ranging up to fully automated transported end products. Our tissue products primarily find their way to the high-volume market: hospitals, institutions, industry, and wholesalers. Not only in the Netherlands, but also in Central Europe.

What you'll do

On our Converting department, as Maintenance Technical Manager, you are the mechanical expert through whom you analyze breakdowns, initiate and coordinate (preventive) maintenance plans, develop standards, and coach the organization in the field of maintenance. For your team of technicians, you create an environment focused on ownership, open communication, creative thinking, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

You work closely with the department leaders, where a department consists of 2 or more production lines. In addition, you participate in daily and weekly department meetings and support project implementations. You report to the Operations Manager.

What you will do

  • You lead the team of technicians and are responsible for their performance, employability, and professional development.
  • You support the line teams during planned and unplanned maintenance stops. Together, you work towards 'zero losses' and minimize the number of unplanned technical stops. You do this, among other things, by using best practices in an efficient manner and by proposing and implementing new work processes. You support the line leaders during internal or external escalation.
  • You are responsible for drafting and executing the maintenance plans of the various line teams. You define the basic standards for mechanical systems. You develop a preventive maintenance plan and ensure its rollout.
  • You initiate and lead meetings to organize and plan all maintenance-related activities.
  • Together with the line teams, you analyze production and maintenance losses. You realize savings through a strong focus on planned maintenance and through the implementation of maintenance tools and condition monitoring. You make the expenditure curve for maintenance costs predictable and the process of budgeting for maintenance costs transparent.
  • You coach and train employees in analyzing breakdowns.
  • You develop a strategy to permanently eliminate breakdowns and realize cost savings. You reduce downtime caused by breakdowns by applying DDS (Daily Direction Settings), problem-solving tools, and by coaching behavior.
  • You manage various maintenance management information systems, including a technical database, SAP, etc.
  • You maintain contacts with machine suppliers for information or support during breakdowns or for technical advice regarding maintenance or improvements.

Who you are
You combine strong technical knowledge of maintenance, breakdown analysis, and mechanical systems with experience in managing and developing technical teams.
Furthermore, you bring:

  • Completed HBO or WO degree in a technical direction, preferably a mechanical and/or electrotechnical background.
  • Extensive experience within a production or maintenance environment.
  • Analytically strong, result-oriented, and experience with continuous improvement, maintenance management systems such as SAP, and the realization of maintenance optimizations.
  • Strong communication skills, whereby you communicate easily at different levels and know how to coach, motivate, and involve employees in change.
  • Good command of both the Dutch and English languages is essential.
