Jr. Maintenance Contract Specialist

• HBO (Higher Professional Education) working and thinking level, preferably in a technical direction or Technical Business Administration.

• Affinity with maintenance processes, technical installations, and supplier management.

• Basic knowledge of contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and performance indicators is a plus.

• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.

• Analytically minded and able to translate technical information into practical solutions.

• Good command of the Dutch and English languages.

We are looking for a Jr. Maintenance Contract Specialist!

What will you do?
The position of Jr. Maintenance Contract Specialist concerns an apprentice position where you will get the chance to gain valuable work experience within Maintenance.

As a Jr. Maintenance Contract Specialist, you are responsible for developing, implementing, and managing maintenance contracts that contribute to the reliability, availability, and compliance of installations and production equipment. You will work closely with Maintenance Engineers, Installation Managers, Maintenance Managers, and Procurement to ensure that maintenance services align optimally with the needs of the organization.

You translate technical maintenance needs into clear scopes of work and support Procurement during tenders, contract negotiations, and supplier selections. After contracting, you monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement in service, safety, quality, and cost control.

What will your tasks and responsibilities be?

• Drafting and maintaining scopes of work for maintenance and service contracts in collaboration with Maintenance Engineers, Installation Managers, and Maintenance Managers.

• Translating technical maintenance requirements into clear and measurable contractual needs.

• Defining service levels, KPIs, and performance indicators for external service providers.

• Ensuring compliance with Abbott guidelines, GMP, EHS, and quality requirements during the setup of contracts.

• Acting as the subject matter owner of maintenance contracts during tender and selection processes.

• Supporting Procurement in drafting requests for proposals (RFP/RFQ) and tender documentation.

• Evaluating supplier bids on technical content, scope coverage, risks, compliance, and feasibility.

• Providing technical recommendations to Procurement for the purpose of supplier selection and contract award.

• Supporting contract negotiations with suppliers from a technical and operational perspective.

• Managing existing maintenance contracts throughout the entire contract lifecycle.

• Monitoring contract performance using KPIs, SLAs, and agreed performance requirements.

• Organizing and leading periodic contract and supplier reviews.

• Identifying and realizing improvements in the areas of safety, compliance, quality, reliability, and cost.

• Initiating corrective actions in the event of deviating supplier performance.

• Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external service partners.
