You provide direction. To the team and to the projects.
A good project requires more than technical knowledge. It requires someone who brings people along, makes clear choices, and ensures that agreements are kept.
As a project leader at Van Vuuren Elektrotechniek, you are responsible for the successful realization of our projects in public lighting and traffic control installations. From Beverwijk, you work closely with, among others, project leaders, site managers, project coordinators, and our technicians. You provide direction to the team, maintain an overview, and ensure that everyone knows what needs to be done.
Leadership is your most important competence in this role. You create clarity, hold people accountable for agreements, and ensure collaboration. At the same time, you are sharp on the process, progress, and quality, so that projects are delivered to the client on time and with high quality.
This will be your job
From the start of a project, you take the lead. You ensure it is clear what we have agreed with the client, how we are going to execute the project, and what is required from the team for that. You hold ultimate responsibility for the projects and manage progress, quality, planning, and finances. In doing so, you do not have to do everything yourself. Precisely by clearly assigning responsibilities and managing your team well, you ensure that the project as a whole runs smoothly. You are close to the execution and know what is happening on the ground. Is the schedule at risk of running over, is the scope changing, or is quality under pressure? Then you do not wait, but you adjust in a timely manner. You discuss bottlenecks, make choices, and ensure that actions are actually carried out. You also take responsibility towards the client. You ensure clear communication, honor agreements, and monitor that the work is realized and delivered according to agreement.
Your responsibilities include, among other things:
Leading the project team and ensuring clear responsibilities.
Managing planning, progress, quality, and financial results.
Monitoring the process from order through to delivery.
Identifying deviations and adjusting in a timely manner when necessary.
Monitoring contract agreements and managing additional and reduced work.
Maintaining contact with clients and other involved parties.
Chairing and preparing project and progress meetings.
Ensuring timely and high-quality delivery to the client.
Continuously looking for ways where collaboration, execution, and processes can be smarter or better.
Van Vuuren Elektrotechniek has existed since 1925 and has over 60 permanent employees. From our head office in Beverwijk and our project locations in Zwaag and Voorhout, we work mainly in Noord-Holland, Zuid-Holland, and Utrecht. Our work is literally visible in the surroundings: from new street lighting along the Parallelweg in Beverwijk to building a VRI on the Maasvlakte.
We provide advice, design, execution, and maintenance. In doing so, we work with short lines of communication and fixed teams. As a project leader, this means you are close to the people doing the work. You get the space to lead your own projects, make decisions, and achieve results together with your team that we can be proud of.
For this position, we are primarily looking for a leader. Someone who takes responsibility, maintains an overview, and knows how to naturally get people on board. You are clear about expectations and agreements, but also know when to listen, support, or conversely, make a decision. You look ahead and intervene before a problem becomes a problem.
Knowledge and experience within infra is a plus. Experience with public lighting, traffic control installations, or infrastructural projects is a bonus. However, we find it more important that you can lead, organize, and manage. You can further develop technical knowledge, but leadership and ownership must be in you.
Are you doubting whether your background matches exactly? We would love to talk to you.
A responsible position in which you truly have influence on how projects and teams are managed. You will get space to make decisions, implement improvements, and further develop yourself as a project leader.
Do you want to know which projects you will be working on, how our teams are structured, or what we expect from you as a project leader? Then please contact Angelique Bakker via 06 81369068 or a.bakker@duravermeer.nl.
