Product Owner

• A completed HBO (higher professional education) degree, preferably in the field of IT;

• Demonstrable experience in a similar role within the Telecom or IT sector;

• Knowledge of FTTH networks and associated IT applications is a plus;

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, backlog management, and preferably in possession of a PSPO 1 certificate;

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;

• Strong analytical ability and solution-oriented thinking;

• Familiarity with APIs, web services, and data integrations is a plus.

A VOG (Certificate of Good Conduct) is mandatory for this position. The application will be started by DELTA after the employment contract has been signed. The costs for the VOG will be reimbursed by us.

As a Product Owner, you will become part of the change and regime management department. This department is responsible for translating strategic and tactical (business) objectives into a concrete roadmap of initiatives that contribute to these objectives. Additionally, the Product Owner is also responsible for the realization of this roadmap within the entire organization.

This vacancy for Product Owner focuses on our passive cable infrastructure (Layer 1). Our cable infrastructure concerns both Fiber to the Home (FTTH) and Coax, serving a total of 1.6 million addresses. To build, maintain, monitor, and manage these networks as optimally as possible, we use various applications for administrative registration and related processes such as delivery, service, and inventory management. Think, for example, of applications that record where cables are geographically located in the ground, or applications used to handle network outages. Together, this Layer 1 landscape forms the foundation of our services, ensuring that the parties providing services on top of it can utilize the network optimally.

As a Product Owner, you are responsible for multiple applications that are built and maintained by different suppliers. This means that no two days are the same: one moment you are aligning the backlog with an external party, the next moment you are communicating with internal stakeholders regarding priorities. You maintain the overview and know how to switch effortlessly between interests, working methods per supplier, and stakeholders; based on this, you know how to adapt your communication style. You are the first point of contact for functionality, the alignment of priorities, and the monitoring of the backlog.

• Developing and managing a clear product vision and long-term roadmap;

• Coordinating the development and implementation of Layer 1 applications, for which you will direct the various suppliers;

• Implementing improvements and new functionalities based on operational needs and user feedback, as well as security;

• Guiding and supporting development teams with technical challenges;

• Maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including: various departments within DELTA Fiber, contractors, Internet Service Providers, and suppliers.

• Drafting and maintaining a backlog per application in Azure DevOps

You are a proactive and result-oriented professional with a passion for product and process management and the development of applications. With your hands-on mentality, you coordinate the development and implementation of applications, working closely with various internal and external development teams to ensure that technical and functional requirements are delivered. Through your strategic insight, you develop a clear product vision and identify opportunities for innovation. You support daily operational activities, monitor performance, and ensure continuous improvements. You feel comfortable in an environment with multiple ongoing projects at once, and you do not get confused by changing priorities or unexpected issues. You are not the one who builds everything yourself, but you are the one who ensures that everyone is on the same page — even when parties have different interests or processes. You are analytical, decisive, and effortlessly adapt your communication style to your interlocutor and the situation.

The location for this position is in Schiedam, perfectly situated between the highway and the station.
