A VOG (Certificate of Good Conduct) is mandatory for this position. The application will be started by DELTA after the employment contract has been signed. The costs for the VOG will be reimbursed by us.
The Network Automation team is responsible for the automation and reliability of our network infrastructure. Among other things, we manage Nautobot as a central CMDB and develop tools and integrations that make our network smarter, more robust, and more scalable. Additionally, we are responsible for platforms such as Airflow and various custom applications that support our operational processes. For the next phase in our development, we are looking for a Senior Automation Engineer to help further expand and provide direction to our automation strategy.
As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will act as a technical authority within the team. You will design and implement scalable solutions for network automation and take ownership of the further development of our Nautobot environment. In doing so, you will bring vision and best practices, drive consistent technical choices, and work closely with network administrators, software engineers, and architects. You will actively contribute to a culture in which automation, reliability, and knowledge sharing are central.
Your responsibilities include, among others:
Designing, developing, and managing scalable network automation solutions.
Further developing and maintaining the Nautobot environment as a central CMDB.
Implementing integrations and tooling (including with Airflow and custom applications).
Determining and monitoring technical standards, architecture, and best practices.
Collaborating with network administrators, software engineers, and architects to further embed automation within the organization.
Coaching team members and stimulating knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
You are an experienced and driven automation engineer with a strong affinity for network infrastructure. You have a clear vision of network automation and know how to translate this into concrete, scalable solutions. With your analytical ability and technical depth, you are able to fathom complex issues and implement sustainable improvements. You naturally take ownership and feel responsible for the quality and reliability of the solutions you develop.
Additionally, you are a connecting factor within the team and beyond. You switch effortlessly between different disciplines, from network administrators to software engineers and architects. You actively share your knowledge, coach colleagues, and contribute to a culture in which collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement are central. You continue to develop yourself and follow the latest trends and best practices in the field of automation and network technology.
The location for this position is in Schiedam, perfectly situated between the highway and the station.
