Development Lead Network & Services

• A higher professional (HBO) or university (WO) education, preferably in the direction of Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable technical study.

• At least 5 years of experience with software development and demonstrable hands-on programming experience.

• Experience with managing, coaching, or providing substantive guidance to developers or engineering teams.

• Knowledge of modern software development methodologies, such as Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and code review processes.

• Experience with automation, APIs, cloud and platform technologies, and modern software architectures.

• Affinity with or experience in the telecom, network, or infrastructure world; experience with fiber optic networks is a plus.

• Experience with or a clear vision on the use of AI-supported development tools, such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar solutions.

• Experience with stakeholder management and collaborating with different disciplines, such as architecture, IT, and engineering.

• Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English.

A VOG (Certificate of Good Conduct) is mandatory for this position. The application will be started by DELTA after the employment contract has been signed. The costs for the VOG will be reimbursed by us.

As Development Lead Network & Services, you will play a key role in the further digitalization and automation of our fiber optic network. You will enter an environment where software development plays an increasingly large role in designing, managing, and optimizing our network and platform services. Together with architects, developers, and network engineers, you will work on smart, scalable solutions that contribute directly to the quality and reliability of our services.

In this role, you combine technical depth with leadership. You are a working lead who actively contributes to software development and technical choices, while simultaneously providing direction to a small development team and inspiring engineers to embrace modern development methodologies, automation, and AI-supported working. You connect different disciplines within Network & Services and ensure that innovative ideas are translated into concrete solutions that prepare our fiber optic network for the future.

• Providing substantive leadership to the development domain and actively participating in software development, code reviews, and technical implementations.

• Developing software solutions that contribute to the automation, innovation, and further digitalization of our fiber optic network.

• Providing direction to the use of AI, modern development methodologies, tooling, and standards to continuously improve software development.

• Translating technical ambitions into a clear development strategy, roadmap, and priorities.

• Coaching and managing a small team of developers and engineers and stimulating a modern development culture.

• Connecting architects, developers, network engineers, and platform teams to bring innovative solutions from idea to realization and to ensure the quality, scalability, and manageability of software.
