The role

Helping people find their health and self-confidence again, that is where you make the difference as a nurse at NOK. For the Heerlen location, we are looking for an MBO nurse for 32 hours per week.

Dutch Obesity Clinic & NOK Clinics
The Dutch Obesity Clinic (NOK) is the largest and most specialized independent clinic in the Netherlands for the treatment of people with severe obesity. For more than 25 years, we have been successfully guiding people at our 11 locations toward a healthier weight through bariatric surgery in combination with intensive lifestyle guidance. We do all of this in multidisciplinary teams.

At NOK Clinics, part of NOK, we help people with (severe) obesity who have already tried everything to achieve lasting results. We offer effective treatment pathways with medication, personal guidance, and realistic goals. Our treatments fall outside of health insurance, but because of that, they offer more room for customization and speed.

What you'll do

Your role as an MBO nurse
As an MBO nurse at NOK, you are a familiar face for our patients. You ensure that medical information is correct and enters our EHR accurately, that screenings proceed well, and that patients know what to expect.
You work independently, but in close contact with doctors and colleagues from other disciplines. In this way, you contribute concretely to safe, careful, and personal care.

In this varied role
You request patient data from hospitals and other practitioners
You complete medical files and process data carefully in the EHR
You prepare medical check-ups and sometimes administer questionnaires
You assess blood draw results and report your findings back to the doctor or patient
You provide information to patients about:
- the pre-treatment phase (together with the care coordinator)
- the post-treatment phase (such as medication use and possible consequences after surgery)
You perform telephone triage according to protocol
You follow and monitor diagnostic investigations, in consultation with the doctor when necessary
You prepare and conduct medical information sessions, in which you inform patients about medication, blood values, and complaints that may arise after surgery
You measure patients' blood pressure, weight, and height and record this data.

In short: you are the nurse who brings calm to an exciting process and ensures that patients enter their treatment with confidence.

Requirements

Who you are
You are a nurse who does not wait, but takes initiative. Communication is your strength: you know how to convey medical information clearly, you put patients at ease, and you ensure they feel seen and heard.
