Are you a third-year bachelor or master's student of law or corporate law and do you want to gain practical experience? Then an internship at De Brauw in Amsterdam is what you are looking for. During a student internship, you will participate full-time or part-time for two months in our Corporate Litigation practice.
Why choose a role as an intern in our Corporate Litigation practice?
An internship is a good way to get to know our firm and the Corporate Litigation practice better. As an intern, you participate directly: you perform legal research, draft memos, and, for example, attend hearings and case law lunches.
You will sit in the office with our lawyers, so you can always go to them with questions and learn a lot in daily practice. With personal guidance, direct feedback, and regular contact with senior colleagues and partners, you will learn the profession quickly and thoroughly.
Step 1: You send a cover letter, CV, transcript, and optionally your thesis and/or internship evaluation(s).
Step 2: You will come by for an interview with a recruiter and a lawyer from the practice. Prior to this, you will complete a personality questionnaire online.
Step 3: You will receive an offer in the event of a positive outcome.
Due to the large number of high-profile cases, our strong focus on dispute and risk management, and our full-service litigation practice we serve the vast majority of the 100 largest companies headquartered in the Netherlands. Our cases often attract public interest and are politically very sensitive. Our team is active in various areas of law, including corporate law, contract law, and disciplinary law. We assist our clients with corporate investigations, civil cases before the Supreme Court, financial disputes (for example regarding shares and derivatives), and proceedings before the Enterprise Chamber. The practice is very broad and works closely with other practices, giving you the opportunity to also work on commercial disputes, ESG, and arbitration cases.
At our firm, the Arbitration and Corporate Litigation practice groups work as one integrated team. As a student, you can be involved in cases in both areas, given the significant overlap in the work we handle. Although you can indicate a preference for Arbitration or Corporate Law during the application procedure, we assume by default that students are available for both areas. This structure offers a versatile experience and ensures that you come into contact with a wide range of complex disputes.
