The role

Are you an ambitious law student with strong legal analytical skills and an interest in corporate law? Then a student internship within the Corporate M&A practice group of Linklaters Amsterdam is an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with high-level international transaction practice.

During your student internship, you will fully participate within our Corporate M&A practice group for two months. You will work on complex national and international transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate governance issues. In doing so, you will get the chance to experience firsthand how transactions are structured, negotiated, and executed, and how legal and strategic advice is developed in an international and commercially driven context.

Our Corporate M&A practice group advises leading national and international clients, including listed companies, private equity parties, financial institutions, and multinationals. You will become acquainted with various stages of the transaction process and gain a good insight into the role of the lawyer in a practice group where legal quality, strategic insight, and collaboration are central.

It is also possible to become acquainted with other parts of our transaction practice during the internship period, depending on your interests and the work within the office.

What you'll do

As a student intern, you will actively participate in ongoing files and gain a good insight into the Corporate M&A practice group. Your duties may include:

· performing legal research;

· analyzing laws and regulations, case law, and transaction documentation;

· supporting due diligence activities;

· assisting with transaction documentation and advice;

· preparing internal meetings and client work;

· contributing ideas on legal-strategic issues within ongoing transactions.

Hiring process

Prior to the student internship, you will take a capacity test. When you complete this successfully, an interview with a staff member and recruitment will follow. The advantage of this is that you do not have to retake this capacity test when you apply for a position as a trainee lawyer after your internship.
