Are you a third-year bachelor or master's student of law or EU law and do you want to gain practical experience? Then an internship at De Brauw in Amsterdam is what you are looking for. During a student internship, you will participate full-time or part-time for two months in our Arbitration practice.
An internship is a good way to get to know our firm and the Arbitration practice better. As an intern, you participate directly: you perform legal research, draft memos, and, for example, attend hearings and case law lunches.
You will sit in the office with our lawyers, so you can always go to them with questions and learn a lot in daily practice. With personal guidance, direct feedback, and regular contact with senior colleagues and partners, you will learn the profession quickly and thoroughly.
Our internationally recognized arbitration practice is active across borders, legal systems, and sectors. We provide assistance in various types of arbitration: institutional, ad hoc, and investor-state. From energy and technology companies to financial institutions and states, clients entrust us with their most complex and strategic matters. Together with clients and industry experts, our team delves deeply into every case and represents our clients with conviction and legal pragmatism.
At our firm, the Arbitration and Corporate Litigation practice groups work as one integrated team. As a student, you can be involved in matters in both areas, given the significant overlap in the work we handle. Although you can indicate a preference for arbitration or corporate litigation during the application procedure, we assume by default that students are available for both areas. This structure offers a versatile experience and ensures that you come into contact with a wide range of complex disputes.
Step 1: You send a cover letter, CV, transcript, and optionally your thesis and/or internship evaluation.
Step 2: You will come by for an interview with a recruiter and a lawyer from the practice. Prior to this, you will complete a personality questionnaire online.
Step 3: You will receive an offer in the event of a positive outcome.
