Do you want to gain practical experience as a student in our Corporate Litigation practice? Then this position as a working student at De Braauw in Amsterdam might be what you are looking for! As a working student, you will work approximately 15 hours per week, contributing long-term to ongoing cases. This is in contrast to a two-month full-time student internship.
Your work is a mix of know-how activities and practical support. You will conduct literature and case law research, draft memos and presentations, and contribute to newsletters about the latest legal developments. You will participate in team meetings and support the team with complex disputes. You will work independently, but with support from your supervisors.
Due to the large number of high-profile cases, our strong focus on dispute and risk management, and our full-service litigation practice, we serve the vast majority of the 100 largest companies headquartered in the Netherlands. Our client matters often attract public interest and are highly politically sensitive. Our team is active in various areas of law, including corporate law, contract law, and disciplinary law. We assist our clients with corporate investigations, civil cases before the Supreme Court, financial disputes (for example regarding shares and derivatives), and proceedings before the Enterprise Chamber. The practice is very broad and works closely with other practices, giving you the opportunity to also work on commercial disputes, ESG, and arbitration matters.
At our firm, the Arbitration and Corporate Litigation practice groups work as one integrated team. As a working student, you can be involved in cases in both areas, given the significant overlap in the work we handle. Although you may indicate a preference for Arbitration or Corporate Law during the application procedure, we assume by default that working students are available for both areas. This structure offers a versatile experience and ensures that you come into contact with a wide range of complex disputes.
You will gain relevant work experience that aligns with your studies, build a valuable network, and develop essential skills in multidisciplinary teams at a leading law firm. You will be guided by experts in the field of corporate litigation. You will receive personal guidance with direct feedback and learn to tackle complex legal issues by working on real files.
