Very clear As Head of Transport, you determine the transport strategy for our Amsterdam location and are part of the MT. You focus on the long term, process optimization, and the further transition to zero emissions, while coaching managers to ensure the operation runs smoothly.
Strategy & MT: You look ahead, draw up the transport budget, and ensure the department stays on track. Additionally, you advise the site manager on the strategic course. You work with hard data to structurally improve processes and the load factor.
Policy & networking: The rules surrounding urban distribution are changing rapidly. You participate in board meetings and hold discussions with municipalities, working groups, and external partners. Together, you determine the optimal policy for supplying our customers and the further transition to zero-emissions.
Leadership: You hold ultimate responsibility for the entire transport department. You direct and coach the team leaders and planners, so that they can ensure the department of about 70 colleagues works safely.
The reality: Our trucks drive within the Amsterdam ring road. That is logistical top-tier sport full of narrow streets and tight time windows. The challenge of this position lies in future-proofing. The city demands more and more; how do we ensure we continue to supply our customers perfectly, while simultaneously adapting policies and processes to the city's increasingly strict laws and regulations?
