As a Supplier Development Engineer with us, you will work at the heart of the high-tech supply chain and be the connecting link between purchasing, suppliers and technology. You improve supplier performance in terms of quality and delivery, and with your technical insight you contribute directly to innovative customer projects. Ready to make an impact in a complex high-tech environment? Apply now and help build the future of Benchmark!
As a Supplier Development Engineer with us, you work on the development and structural improvement of supplier performance in the areas of quality and delivery reliability. Our suppliers operate within a broad and diverse supply base, ranging from electronics and mechanics to various other specialized commodities. With your technical and analytical eye, you initiate and guide improvement projects together with suppliers. You combine a critical, constructive attitude with an entrepreneurial mindset and take ownership to actually realize improvements, while actively coaching and developing suppliers.
You are responsible for assessing and improving supplier performance, with a focus on quality, delivery reliability, and risk management.
In the event of delivery and quality issues, you take direct control: you liaise with procurement, quality, and suppliers and ensure that corrective actions are followed up and secured.
You guide and coordinate supplier improvement plans, identify risks, and translate analyses into clear reports and improvement advice for management.
You initiate and lead root cause analyses and, together with suppliers, implement structural solutions for production, logistics, and organization-related quality problems.
You draw up an audit plan, perform supplier audits as well as internal audits, and translate audit findings into concrete improvement actions.
You are the owner of Supplier Performance Improvement and monitor the progress of agreed improvement measures both internally and externally.
You analyze existing procurement and supplier management processes, develop new ways of working, and improve procedures where necessary to make the supply chain future-proof.
You build a professional collaborative relationship with suppliers, in which you challenge and stimulate them to continuously improve towards zero defects and high delivery performance.
Together with suppliers, you assess and implement measures regarding rejects, escalations, audits, and quality programs.
You work within multidisciplinary development projects for our high‑tech customers and know how to effectively involve suppliers in improvement trajectories. You build sustainable collaborations that make a difference in a complex, innovative environment.
Working at Benchmark means working in a dynamic work environment. You work in an independent team where your initiatives and ideas are highly valued. Showing initiative is greatly appreciated and rewarded.
You work in a team of 8 direct colleagues. The team you work in is close-knit, and every year you can count on a fun team outing! Beyond that, Benchmark provides plenty of activities, such as an annual summer party and Christmas party.
In addition, we offer:
Good salary: with a range of €4,795 to €6,516 gross per month on a full-time basis. You will be scaled based on your previous (relevant) work experience, whereby we will, of course, also take your salary indication into account.
Quarterly bonus: this is dependent on turnover and can amount to a maximum of 5% of your quarterly salary.
Vacation: enjoy 40 days off per year (27 vacation days and 13 ATV days).
Room for growth and development opportunities: for example, by participating in one of the many trainings of our Benchmark Academy, but also by following training courses that match your wishes and ours as an organization.
Flexible working hours: as long as you ensure your work is finished, we offer the possibility to schedule your working hours in a flexible manner.
Participation in our BE-Fit program: exercising with colleagues at the expense of Benchmark. Together we have already done kickboxing, cross-fit, and attended padel clinics.
You work with an entrepreneurial just-do-it mindset in which you take ownership, dare to be critical towards both suppliers and the internal organization, and truly realize improvements. In a complex high‑tech environment, you continue to develop yourself by collaborating with highly educated colleagues and continuously learning from challenging supply‑chain issues.
Additionally, we would like to see the following:
A completed HBO or WO degree in a field such as, for example, technical business administration or industrial engineering.
Several years of work experience in a similar role such as Supplier Quality Engineer, Continuous Improvement Engineer, or Senior Quality Engineer.
You think in processes and critically, develop a clear vision on supplier improvement, and possess (or quickly acquire) knowledge of production processes within a manufacturing environment.
You are entrepreneurial, decisive, and result-oriented, take initiative, and work actively on continuous improvements.
You are willing to travel (internationally) and continuously invest in your personal and professional development.
We are looking for colleagues who, together with us, shape the future, inspire themselves and others, take on new challenges, and devise forward-looking solutions. Does this appeal to you? We look forward to your application!
