Process / Area Manager Rural Areas

• A completed HBO or WO degree, for example in urban planning, land and water management, environmental science, or public administration;

• At least 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience as an environmental manager, area manager, or project leader;

• Experience with a provincial/municipal government or water board is a plus

• Strong communication and analytical skills;

• Affinity with the rural area and the social challenges playing out there;

• Experience in connecting strategic policy goals with local interests and ensuring support at all levels.

As a Process Area Manager, you are the linchpin in integrated area challenges. You bring interests together, monitor progress, and ensure connection between content, process, and environment. You work on projects in which multiple parties come together - think of residents, farmers, other landowners, municipalities, provinces, water boards, drinking water companies, and nature organizations.

You will be involved in, among other things:

• Building and maintaining relationships with involved parties;

• Organizing participation processes and creating support;

• Executing strategic environmental management and seeking solutions that are beneficial to multiple area parties (win-win);

• Translating policy and/or interests into realistic, supported plans during the exploration and planning phases;

• Reducing resistance and increasing support;

• Making socially feasible and future-proof choices within area issues;

In short: you ensure that cooperation runs smoothly and that every project contributes to a livable, sustainable rural area.

You are a strategic thinker and a practical doer. As a Process Area Manager, you move smoothly between administrative tables and the 'kitchen table' in the area. I connect strategic policy goals with local interests and ensure support at all levels.
