As an actuary within the Pensions team at the AFM, you contribute to the ongoing and thematic supervision of the pension sector. You focus on identifying and analyzing major (behavioral) risks for the sector and pension participants, and participate in multidisciplinary research projects in areas such as transition communication, investigating risk preference, choice guidance, or mandate confirmation.
In the AFM's behavioral supervision, the focus is on the interaction between pension providers and individual participants. You can explain complex technical subjects clearly and understand how collective pension agreements impact individual people. You derive energy from applying your quantitative and conceptual skills, without constantly being the one doing the calculations yourself.
The focus here lies on the new pension system and the transition the sector is undergoing. You analyze complex issues, share valuable insights, and contribute to improving transparency and effectiveness in the pension sector. You work together with colleagues from various disciplines, including actuarial experts, lawyers, and business administrators, to guide the transition in the pension sector and mitigate risks.
A glimpse of your activities:
Analyzing the impact of laws and regulations, signals from participants, and market trends.
Carrying out thematic supervisory investigations within a project team: from thoroughly understanding a potential risk to the assessment and influencing of sector parties.
Performing calculations for pension schemes and scenario amounts, and determining undesirable (financial) effects.
Translating data insights into concrete findings and sharing these with colleagues and parties from the sector.
Conducting supervisory meetings with directors or representatives of institutions.
