The role

As a Junior Trading Venues Supervisor, you contribute to the supervision of the operation, resilience, and integrity of trading venues in the Netherlands. You assess whether these parties comply with laws and regulations and whether their business operations, governance, and trading systems are designed in a controlled and robust manner. Additionally, you delve into risks, developments, and the use of new technologies. Together with fellow supervisors, you are an important point of contact for trading venues and engage in regular dialogue with them. You analyze complex issues and translate your findings into appropriate supervisory measures, ranging from influence to enforcement. You will be trained as a supervisor and receive guidance from experienced colleagues who will teach you how to recognize, analyze, and discuss risks. Due to continuous developments in regulation, markets, and technology, no two days are the same. In this way, you will quickly develop into an expert supervisor and make a direct contribution to fair, transparent, and well-functioning capital markets.

What you'll do

  • Supervising trading venues and assessing whether they comply with relevant laws and regulations, including MiFID II and MiFIR, for example in the context of licensing, thematic investigations, or enforcement processes;

  • Identifying and analyzing risks and developments and determining what these mean for our supervision, for example in the fields of AI, tokenisation, and 24/7 trading;

  • Maintaining contact with trading venues and growing into a substantively strong interlocutor;

  • Collaborating with experts from various fields and utilizing their knowledge and perspectives in your actions and investigations;

  • Devising innovative solutions and contributing to the further development of our supervision.
