The role

As a senior datamanagement specialist, you will work on an important ambition: bringing data within the AFM to a level where risks are controlled and data can be optimally deployed for supervision. You will help make data reliable, findable, and usable, thereby supporting the development of the AFM as a Smart Supervisor.

Together with colleagues, you will work on professionalizing datamanagement within the organization. You will develop, implement, and improve policies, standards, and working methods. Additionally, you will fulfill a pioneering role in organization-wide improvement initiatives and coach colleagues in applying datamanagement principles. You will also support teams within the AFM with specialist expertise and guide colleagues through changes in the way data is worked with.

What you'll do

  • Structurally improving master data, such as licenses and companies.

  • Setting up and improving metadata and data quality.

  • Initiating and further developing datamanagement frameworks: policies, processes, and standards that contribute to data-driven working. Developing and implementing Data Governance structures, including roles, responsibilities, ownership, and decision-making processes regarding data.

  • Providing advice based on expertise to development teams regarding complex issues such as data modeling, data architecture, and authorization management.

  • Leading organization-wide improvement initiatives and creating support for data-driven working within the AFM.

  • Coaching and guiding (junior and medior) datamanagement specialists and acting as a substantive expert within the organization.

How you'll work

Please note: This position is designated as a vulnerable position. For internal employees, a re-screening may take place upon transitioning to this position.

Example from practice

"Working from datamanagement, you are working on the development of a new central capability: the Self Service Analysis Environment (SSA). This environment must enable supervisors to independently perform analyses on available data. How do you approach this?"

You work together with Data Analysts to set up this capability. From a datamanagement perspective, you are responsible for defining the preconditions within which data can be used safely, responsibly, and effectively. In doing so, you focus on three important components: Data Access: together you determine which datasets are made available to supervision teams and how they are made accessible. Governance and compliance: you ensure that data use complies with laws and regulations, whereby the origin, ownership, access rights, and purpose limitation of data are clearly established. Standardization: together you develop a central and uniform working method, so that users can consult and analyze data in a consistent manner. Ultimately, you deliver a secure and standardized Self Service Analysis Environment. This allows supervisors to independently gain insights from data, while the quality, security, and governance of the data remain guaranteed. In this way, the capability contributes to a more data-savvy organization.
