Building an AI model is one thing. Ensuring it runs reliably, is connected to real data, and adds value for a client: that is where it gets interesting.

At adesso, you work on AI solutions that go beyond experiments, from machine learning and MLOps to generative AI, LLMs, and agents. You build, implement, and improve solutions that organizations actually use.

As a Medior AI Engineer, you will collaborate with senior AI Engineers and Forward Deployed Engineers on client projects. You will take on components independently and grow in architecture and end-to-end responsibility.

• Developing AI: you build ML models, LLM applications, and agentic workflows.

• From idea to production: you build data and ML pipelines, automate deployments, and ensure monitoring and reliability.

• Smart integration: you connect AI to existing systems, APIs, and cloud and data platforms.

• Thinking along with the client: you translate challenges into practical, scalable solutions.

• Sharing knowledge: you document reusable patterns and share what you learn with your colleagues.

We focus on retail and e-commerce, finance, and utilities. Think of:

• Forecasts that planners dare to steer by, from retail assortment to grid load.

• Intelligent document processing, such as KYC files or inspection reports, with traceable sources.

• Agents that prepare work in customer service and back office, with evals and guardrails.

• Computer vision, such as in the fitness industry, where we recognize unsafe situations in unmanned 24/7 locations.

The challenge lies not only in the model, but also in reliability, integration, and practical operation. You always choose the technology that fits the problem.

• Not individual secondment. You work on projects on behalf of adesso, with a team behind you.

• No notebook graveyard. A model is only finished when it is running in production and being used.

• No GenAI just because it can be done. Sometimes a classic model is better, sometimes an LLM; you choose what fits.

• No work on call. You think along from the client's question, not only when the design is already fixed.

You will become part of our AI Engineering team: AI engineering consultants in two roles. The Forward Deployed AI Engineer (FDE) owns the client problem and designs the solution, including the agentic architecture. As an AI Engineer, you will dive deep into construction, data, MLOps, and scale, and think along from the client's question about the right approach.

You are given space to shape your own work, but you are never solely responsible for all specialisms.
