Medior AI Data Scientist

• You have a higher professional (HBO) or academic (WO) level of working and thinking and 2 to 4 years of experience as an AI Data Scientist or in a similar applied AI role.
• You have a solid foundation in statistics, machine learning, and data analysis. You substantiate model choices and recognize overfitting, bias, and information leakage between training and test data.
• Works with Python for data processing and model development, uses version control, and makes experiments reproducible and code testable.
• You have built ML or AI solutions for concrete problems, want to apply Generative AI, and work with engineers on implementation in modern data or cloud environments.
• Takes ownership, makes results and limitations understandable for stakeholders, and masters the Dutch language at a C1 level.
• Experience with LLMs, RAG, embeddings, AI agents, GenAI evaluations, scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, SQL, R, or MLOps is a plus. The same applies to AI services in Azure, AWS, or GCP. You do not need to master every tool.

• A permanent contract for 32, 36, or 40 hours and a compensation budget up to €7,100 gross per month, including holiday allowance and mobility allowance;

As a Medior AI Data Scientist at Sogeti, you turn data and AI into solutions that move organizations forward. You combine analytical sharpness with the practical application of machine learning and Generative AI. From the first client request and an experiment to implementation and improvement: you stay involved and make visible what your solution delivers.

You combine a critical eye for data with the drive to actually bring AI solutions into production. You translate business problems into concrete AI use cases, hypotheses, and measurable goals, and investigate which data and approach best fit the desired result. In doing so, you analyze and enrich data, develop datasets for training and evaluation, and keep an eye on quality, privacy, and responsible AI use.

You build models, prototypes, and end-to-end AI solutions in Python, combining machine learning, Generative AI, and Agentic AI. Think of applications such as RAG, document processing, knowledge assistants, and AI agents that connect systems and data sources. You evaluate performance, investigate error patterns, bias, and reliability, and ensure that solutions deliver demonstrable value. Together with Data Engineers and AI/ML Engineers, you realize data pipelines, integrations, and deployments. Even after going live, you remain involved: you monitor results, process user feedback, and translate new insights into improvements and further development of AI solutions.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

• Translating business problems into AI use cases, hypotheses, and measurable results.
• Developing machine learning, Generative AI, and Agentic AI solutions.
• Building end-to-end AI solutions, from experiment and prototype to production.
• Evaluating models on quality, reliability, bias, and business value.
• Collaborating with Data Engineers and AI/ML Engineers on data pipelines, integrations, and deployments.
• Monitoring, improving, and further developing AI solutions after going live.

• You share experiences with peers and sharpen your approach during community days, workshops, and technical sessions.
• You deepen your knowledge in AI, Advanced Analytics, and MLOps and further develop in consultancy and communication.
