Requirements

What we're looking for

• You have a completed HBO or WO degree in IT, data, or a similar field.

• You have 3 to 4 years of experience as a Data Engineer, preferably within consultancy or a project environment.

• You have experience with ETL/ELT processes and building data pipelines for analytical workloads.

• You are a strong programmer in PySpark, Python, and SQL.

• You have practical experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, notebooks, clusters, and Unity Catalog.

• You are familiar with architectures such as Lakehouse, Data Lake, DWH, and Medallion. C2-Confidential

• You have experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP and with orchestrators such as Azure Data Factory, Airflow, Fabric, or Dagster.

• You understand data governance, security, access control, and CI/CD for data pipelines and work with Git, Docker, and DevOps principles.

• You are a strong communicator, take ownership, and can explain technical subject matter clearly.

• You speak and write fluently in Dutch and English and are willing to travel within the Netherlands for customer projects.

The role

As a Medior Data Engineer, you will help build scalable and future-proof data platforms, with Databricks at the core of the solution. You will work on concrete customer challenges, develop data pipelines, implement Delta Lake solutions, and contribute to reliable data architectures in close

collaboration with our SAP specialists and tech lead. You will design medallion architectures and build batch and real-time pipelines using, among others, PySpark,

Python, and SQL. You will work with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP and integrate solutions with, for example, Azure Data Factory, Fabric, Event Hubs, Kafka, or Kinesis.

Additionally, you will work on data quality, lineage, observability, and governance using, among others, Unity Catalog and Purview. From your consultancy role, you will support customers with architectural choices, migrations, data modeling, and platform roadmaps. You will translate complex technical subject matter into clear insights and guide implementations from start to finish.
