Technical Facility Engineer Buildings

The role

As a Technical Facility Engineer, you are the connecting link between the internal organization and external suppliers. You are part of the Facility & Maintenance team, which is responsible for the management and maintenance of multiple VDL ETG Eindhoven locations. Our production sites consist of high-end high-tech and cleanroom environments where advanced mechatronic modules are produced.

In this role, the emphasis lies on the structural management of our buildings. You ensure that our locations remain safe, representative, and operational. Additionally, you are responsible for various statutory inspections and audits and you supervise small structural projects from request to completion.

No two days are the same: one day you might supervise a maintenance project or analyze an inspection report, the next day you coordinate a repair, resolve a malfunction, or coordinate a renovation with users and suppliers.

• Responsible for the management and maintenance of buildings and facility amenities, including drafting maintenance plans, coordinating preventive maintenance, and handling malfunctions and repairs.
• Preparing, supervising, and realizing small structural projects, where you are responsible for specifications, quotes, planning, budget, quality, and completion.
• Directing and supervising external suppliers and contractors and monitoring execution in accordance with agreements.
• Analyzing maintenance, inspection, and validation reports and translating these into concrete improvement actions.
• Coordinating statutory inspections and audits in the field of, among others, lifting and hoisting equipment, cranes and hoists, Scope 9, and appendages for industrial gases.
• Managing materials, resources, and administrative processes to support maintenance and project activities.
• Acting as the backup manager for fire and intruder alarm systems and supporting colleagues within the Facility & Maintenance team.

• MBO+ work and thinking level, or the potential and the will to achieve this;
• At least 5 years, in an industrial environment (cleanroom is a plus);
• Basic knowledge of, or at least an affinity with, electrical and mechanical installations;
• Good communication skills in speech and writing, in relation to internal customers, suppliers, and internal/external technicians;
• Demonstrable knowledge of, and experience with, MS Office applications in a broad sense;
• (Basic) project management skills;
• English in speech and writing, basic knowledge of German is a plus.
