What we're looking for

  • A completed technical mbo or hbo education, or demonstrable relevant work experience at a comparable level.
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience in a similar technical or leadership position (experience in a hotel or within hospitality is a plus).
  • Knowledge of technical installations, relevant laws and regulations, and safety instructions.
  • Experience with coordinating technical activities and managing a team.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to organize tasks and multiple projects simultaneously and set priorities.
  • Good command of the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written.

The role

As Head of Technical Services, you are responsible for the technical management of the hotel and the integrated Congress Center. You ensure that all installations, from air conditioning and lighting to elevators and HVAC systems, function smoothly. With a total area of 29,357 m², 476 rooms, 21 meeting rooms including a large ballroom, and a rooftop event space, this hotel offers a challenging and varied technical playground.

This is a unique opportunity: our current Head of Technical Services will be retiring soon and is looking for a successor. We are looking for someone who can ideally start from January 2027, but the start date is negotiable. You will have the opportunity to be trained by the current Head of Technical Services, allowing you to take over all knowledge and experience directly and make a flying start.

You report to the General Manager (are part of the MT) and lead a mixed team of 1 assistant, 3 engineers, and 2 junior engineers. You coordinate the team and external suppliers, monitor the maintenance schedule, and ensure that everything remains safe, efficient, and operational.

What you'll do

  • Leading the technical team and coaching and motivating colleagues;
  • Developing and monitoring maintenance and repair plans for a building complex of 29,357 m²
  • Supervising/holding responsibility for safety and technical procedures.
  • Coordinating technical projects and renovations in a complex with various installations and systems;
  • Monitoring the budget for maintenance and investments;
  • Reporting to hotel management on technical performance and areas for improvement;
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and optimize the guest experience.

What will you do?

You are responsible for all installations with priority on safety laws and regulations including the necessary inspections and certifications, such as:

  • Fire alarm system
  • Evacuation system
  • Sprinkler systems
  • Emergency lighting
  • Emergency power supply
  • Elevators
