What we're looking for
- At least 5 years of relevant experience as a project leader or project manager, where you have led multidisciplinary team(s), within a technical or industrial environment
- A HBO/WO degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related
- A team builder and able to inspire, motivate, and persuade people;
- Proactive, analytical, creative with a "take ownership" and "can do" mentality;
- Excellent technical and commercial insight, strong in a systematic and planned manner;
- Good communication skills in speech and writing, in both Dutch and English. Able to apply these at different levels within and outside the organization;
Nice to have
- Knowledge of PRINCE2 and PMI/PMBOK methodologies is a plus.

The role
What you will do
As NPI Project Manager at VDL GL Precision, you are responsible for the industrialization of complex precision products for international customers in the semiconductor, analytical, and (aero)space industries. You hold ultimate responsibility for achieving project objectives in the areas of quality, logistics, technology, finance, and project governance (QLTC). In this highly diverse role, you lead a multidisciplinary team consisting of technical experts in areas such as design, supply chain, and production (processes). Together with your team, you ensure the achievement of project objectives. You ensure the delivery of DfX input, first prototypes and pilots, the volume-scale production process, and associated documentation for the release for volume to Operations.
What you'll do
- The delivery of complex precision products from initiation and concept through to production and customer acceptance, while taking the triple constraint into account;
- Leading the project team, in close cooperation with a lead engineer;
- Monitoring and controlling project progress in terms of costs, planning, quality, and risks, including identifying, analyzing, and mitigating project risks and the timely escalation of deviations;
- Managing stakeholders: external customers and suppliers, as well as internal stakeholders at various (management) levels and functional domains;
- Contributing to the continuous development of the company's project management competence.
