Skills

Nice to have

VDK Groep B.V. is hiring for this role in several places. This vacancy is in the Netherlands.

This job advert was originally written in Dutch.

The role

"Whether it's about installations or people, you always know how to switch gears." From sustainable detached homes, apartment buildings, and town halls to office buildings—you ensure everything is technically optimally prepared, so that our skilled tradespeople can install the systems smoothly and professionally. In doing so, you work closely with colleagues, subcontractors, and suppliers. You do all this within a close-knit company, where we are there 'for each other' and your development is a priority.

In short

With us, you will find:

  • A gross salary between €3,391 and €4,962 per month;

  • A role in which installation technicians can realize projects flawlessly thanks to your preparation, advice, and support;

  • The space to truly grow in the role. Are you currently, for example, an installation technician, site supervisor, or aspiring work planner? With us, you get the space to develop into an experienced mechanical engineering work planner;

  • A working environment with plenty of growth opportunities, so that you can continue to develop yourself in the future!

You handle everything, from drawing to delivery

As soon as an assignment has arrived and the kick-off has been organized by the Project Manager, you are ready. You dive into the project objectives, requirements, work budget, and specifications. With that input, you get to work in Revit: you model the complete installation work in 3D—from the installation of complex heat pumps, air handling systems, and sewage to the sanitary facilities. Additionally, you ensure that all necessary information is always in order and available throughout the project. This makes it crystal clear to everyone what is expected of them.

But it doesn't stop there! As a mechanical engineering work planner, you are a true connector who likes to switch gears quickly. You request quotes, place orders, and ensure that the delivery of materials and the planning align perfectly. Thanks to your involvement and regular presence on the construction site, you know exactly what is happening. Is something running differently than planned? You switch quickly and think in solutions, together with clients, suppliers, and colleagues. With your technical insight, you look ahead and advise clients proactively. Meanwhile, you keep a sharp eye on whether all activities are proceeding according to the budget, as well as quality and safety standards. Together with the team, you ensure a flawless delivery. You remain involved even after that: you provide as-built drawings, fill in the inspection forms, and ensure that the manuals are available digitally, so the customer knows exactly where they stand. In this way, we work together to ensure clients receive the quality they desire.

What makes this role so unique?

"In the role of mechanical engineering work planner, you work on complex mechanical engineering installations. One time the focus is on residential construction, while the next day you are at a project in the utility sector. In this role, you also regularly contribute ideas regarding construction development, together with the Planning Department and Project Managers. Thanks to your qualities of always thinking ahead and maintaining an overview, you ensure that our installation technicians can work flawlessly. In this, you work in a large and professional company, where you can truly switch gears quickly and easily," says colleague William. "And when you achieve beautiful results together that make customers genuinely happy, it gives a sense of pride and satisfaction."

For one another!

With us, you work at a close-knit company. You can feel that in everything. The atmosphere is professional, convivial, and familiar. As colleagues William, Ruurd, and Alco say: "the processes, materials, work clothing, and means of transport are always well-organized. Additionally, we take responsibility, we know each other, and we help each other. Or, as we say ourselves: we are there 'for each other'". You notice this supportive attitude not only in how we interact with one another, but also in the work. "Because we are there for each other, we can deliver quality and also ensure a pleasant working atmosphere—with room for a healthy dose of humor and conviviality." From day one, you feel at home at Van Dam Groep, thanks in part to the personal attention from both colleagues and management. With us, everything is open for discussion, from training to private situations," says William.

Moreover, an entrepreneurial mentality prevails: we like to roll up our sleeves. You get the freedom here to make mistakes and learn from them. We actively think along with your development and value talent. Or, as colleague Alco puts it beautifully: "I once started as a Technician, and since then I have grown into the role of Head of Projects. In short: much is possible within our company."
