Does this sound like your ideal next step?

A great team that stands ready for one another. With us, you work within a large professional organization, but feel the warmth of a small, close-knit company.
Working with top tools, comfortable workwear, and a well-equipped van. With us, everything is well organized!
The opportunity to take on the role of expert and share your knowledge. Are you already an expert or would you like to become one? We would love to provide you with the stage for this!
Applying knowledge and guiding colleagues
As a Utility Service Technician, you are the expert who not only solves malfunctions but also prevents them. You work on technically complex installations within, among others, courthouses, swimming pools, healthcare institutions, and office buildings. These are complex installations that truly demand your knowledge, insight, and experience. Think of air handling units, heat pumps, HVAC systems, fans, and control technology. You oversee the bigger picture, understand malfunctions with multiple causes, and know exactly which link you need to tackle. Your work keeps installations in top condition and customers satisfied.
Reports come in via telephone or digitally via the Building Automation department. Sometimes a malfunction can be solved remotely, but if that is not possible, you head out to the site. On location, you excel at asking the right questions and connecting your laptop to the control technology. You analyze, make the correct diagnosis, and tackle the malfunction decisively. Thanks to your technical insight, you trace malfunctions effortlessly and usually solve them immediately. Think of calibrating sensors and control components, adjusting hydraulic circuits, replacing appendages, and reprogramming or adjusting the control technology. Because the correct materials are mostly in your well-equipped van, you can act quickly. Are parts needed that you do not have with you? Then you collect or order the correct materials. These are always available within 24 hours. Additionally, are there malfunctions where collaboration with experts in specific fields is required? Then you ensure good coordination and supervise the quality of the work to be performed.
But your role goes further than that. As an experienced Utility Service Technician, you are a go-to person for colleagues. Is a Service Technician stuck at another customer? Then you step in. You think along, provide advice, and guide them with complex technical questions. You are not only the expert, but also a mentor: you contribute to an open atmosphere in which colleagues can develop thanks to your technical knowledge. Is a situation acute? Then you switch gears quickly and effectively to realize the solution together. In short, thanks to your professional maturity, you know how to both solve problems independently and guide colleagues in the right way.
What makes this role so unique?
What makes this role so unique? That is without a doubt the versatility, says colleague Leon: "You move continuously between technology, customer contact, and collaboration with colleagues. You do much more than solving complex malfunctions. You actively think along with customers about the maintenance and use of installations, keep an eye on when parts are due for replacement, and get the space to - within a certain amount - independently take on and execute additional work. On average, I spend three days per week on maintenance and malfunctions, and two days on additional work resulting from maintenance. What makes it completely complete for me? That I am allowed to guide colleagues with complicated malfunctions and share my knowledge with them, through which they can help customers well and develop themselves. That makes this work truly special."
For one another!
With us, you don't just work for a company - you work for a family-like company. You notice that in everything. The atmosphere is professional, convivial, and familiar. "The processes, materials, work clothing, and means of transport are always well organized. Additionally, we take responsibility, we know each other, and we help each other. Or, as we say ourselves: we are there 'for one another'". You notice this supportive attitude not only in interacting with each other, but also in the work. "Because we are there for one another, we can deliver quality and ensure a pleasant working atmosphere - with room for a healthy dose of humor and conviviality. From day one, you feel at home at Van Dam Groep, partly thanks to the personal attention from both colleagues and management. It truly feels like a family business," according to Leon and William.
Moreover, an entrepreneurial mentality prevails: we like to roll up our sleeves. You get the freedom here to make mistakes and learn from them. We actively think along with your development and value talent. Or as colleague Egbert puts it beautifully: "I once started as a Service Technician. Thanks to the growth opportunities within Van Dam Groep, I now fulfill the role of Utility Team Leader. In short: much is possible within our company."
