The role

Vattenfall is a European energy company with approximately 21,000 employees working in various countries. For more than 100 years, we have been engaged in electrifying industries, providing energy to people's homes, and modernizing our way of life through innovation and collaboration. Vattenfall aims to make a fossil-free life possible within one generation. We are at the forefront of the transition to a sustainable energy system. To achieve this ambitious goal, we are looking for talented individuals who, in addition to their passion for their own role, also have a strong team spirit and want to contribute to supporting a meaningful corporate mission.

Do you want to make a real impact on the energy transition with your expertise? As a Service Technician at Vattenfall, you will have a job at great heights and with many responsibilities. This is because you will be working on our wind turbines within the Princes Ariane Wind Park in the Wieringermeer.

We are looking for someone who, on the one hand, has electrotechnical knowledge and no fear of heights, and on the other hand, is looking for a job for a long time. We invest in training so that you can work safely immediately and also demonstrate professional competence.

Does this seem like a great challenge to you and do you want to contribute to a fossil-free future? Start as a service technician and ensure that our wind turbines continue to operate optimally.

Vattenfall's vision is to develop a sustainable, diversified, European energy portfolio with more long-term profits and significant growth opportunities. Vattenfall strives to be one of the leaders in the development and production of sustainable energy.

Business Area Wind is responsible for Vattenfall's onshore and offshore wind energy and for other activities in sustainable energy, excluding hydropower. Today, we develop, build, and operate wind energy in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands.

The Prinses Ariane Windpark is located in the Wieringermeer polder, in the north of North Holland, and consists of 82 Nordex wind turbines of the N117 type. The service building with offices, workshop, and warehouse is located in the middle of the wind park, near the town of Slootdorp. From here, we work with a team of about 15 people to ensure the wind park performs optimally.

What you'll do

In teams of two, you will perform planned and unplanned maintenance work using the agreed work instructions.

Compliance with all safety and health requirements is a matter of course for you, especially when it comes to working at great heights. Additionally, you will make recommendations to improve safety and operational procedures.

As a technician, you will be busy with the proactive identification and reporting of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults. You diagnose and repair turbine components. You troubleshoot, solve problems, and perform maintenance and repair of all turbine systems, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic assembly and repair of important parts.

Based on a rotating on-call shift schedule, you will also be regularly available on weekends to perform turbine repairs. You will work from a fixed location, namely Slootdorp in Wieringermeer. Sometimes you may also be deployed for short periods at other Vattenfall wind farms further afield in the Netherlands.

Finally, you will maintain the maintenance history of wind turbines, such as service reports, and report the necessary data in the Vattenfall management system (SAP).
