Ready to take your technical career to new heights?

Apply and discover what it is like to work on one of the most visible forms of sustainable energy in the Netherlands.

At Vattenfall, we look beyond just the requirements of the current position. We actively invest in the development of our employees and offer plenty of opportunities to grow within the organization. Therefore, we are looking for ambitious candidates who want to develop into experienced technicians and potentially fill a leading role within a technical team or site organization in the future.

You will enter an environment where learning and development are central. Together with other colleagues, you will follow courses, certifications, and practical training, where knowledge sharing and personal growth are encouraged. Additionally, within Vattenfall, there are opportunities to gain experience at other wind farms and collaborate with teams both domestically and abroad.

We believe that investing in young talent forms the basis for a strong and future-proof organization. Therefore, we are building a new generation of wind technicians who can grow, learn, and contribute to the energy transition of tomorrow together. Good command of the English language is important in this regard, as you will regularly work with international colleagues and gain access to international training and development programs.

The role

Do you want to work on technology that truly makes an impact? Have you just finished your vocational (mbo) education, or are you at the beginning of your technical career? Then this is your chance to learn a trade that contributes to a fossil-free future every single day.

At Vattenfall, we train you to become a Wind Technician. Together with experienced colleagues, you will learn how to perform maintenance on wind turbines, troubleshoot faults, and ensure that our wind farms continue to operate safely and optimally.

You do not need to have prior experience in the wind energy sector. If you have technical insight, enjoy working with your hands, and want to keep learning, we will invest in your development.

From our onshore wind farm near Slootdorp, you will contribute to the energy transition of the Netherlands, both literally and figuratively, at great heights.

As a Junior Wind Technician, you will work together with experienced colleagues on the maintenance of wind turbines. You will follow an extensive induction and training program in which you will receive, step by step, all the knowledge and certifications you need to start working safely and independently.

What you'll do

You will learn, among other things:

  • Performing maintenance on modern wind turbines;
  • Identifying and resolving faults;
  • Working with electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems;
  • Working safely at heights;
  • Registering and reporting technical data;
  • Collaborating in a close-knit team of technicians.

No two days are the same. One day you will perform planned maintenance, and the next you will help resolve a technical fault.

What do you bring?

You are curious, eager to learn, and have an affinity for technology. You don't need to know everything already; we find your motivation at least as important as your experience.

Additionally:

  • You have completed an mbo level 3 or 4 vocational education in a technical field or will complete it soon;
  • A high level of safety awareness
  • For example, are you considering studies such as Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Technology, Automotive, or similar;
  • You do not have a fear of heights;
  • You are physically fit
  • You work carefully and according to safety regulations;
  • You possess a driving license (category B);
  • You have command of the Dutch language and can manage well in English (English is an important skill, not only for daily cooperation within an international organization, but also for future growth opportunities and cross-site training).
  • You live in Noord-Holland or Friesland or are willing to travel to the site (Slootdorp location).

Even if your education does not match exactly but you have a strong technical interest, we encourage you to apply.
