The role
Are you an experienced service technician ready for a next step? Do you want to not only further develop yourself into a Service Technician, but also get the chance to grow and guide colleagues in their development? Then this position is truly for you! As a Facilities Service Technician (in training), you will work on challenging installations at various locations, from courthouses to swimming pools. You will do all this within a close-knit and loyal organization that enjoys investing in your growth and development.
What you'll do
As a Facilities Service Technician (in training), you are the person who not only solves breakdowns but also prevents them. You work on technically complex installations within, among others, courthouses, swimming pools, healthcare institutions, and office buildings. These are complex installations that truly demand your knowledge, insight, and experience. Think of air handling units, heat pumps, HVAC systems, fans, and control technology. You oversee the bigger picture, identify breakdowns with multiple causes, and know exactly which link you need to tackle. Your work keeps installations in top condition and customers satisfied.
Reports come in via telephone or digitally via the Building Automation department. Sometimes a breakdown can be solved remotely, but if that is not possible, you will head out to the site. On location, you excel at asking the right questions and connecting your laptop to the control technology. You analyze, make the correct diagnosis, and tackle the breakdown decisively. Thanks to your technical insight, you trace breakdowns effortlessly and usually solve them immediately. This includes calibrating sensors and control components, adjusting hydraulic circuits, replacing appendages, and reprogramming or adjusting the control technology. Because the correct materials are often in your well-equipped van, you can act quickly. Are parts needed that you do not have with you? Then you collect or order the correct materials. These are always available within 24 hours. Additionally, are there breakdowns where collaboration with experts in specific fields is required? Then you ensure good coordination and supervise the quality of the work to be performed.
In short:
With us, you will find:
A gross salary between € 3,391 and € 4,524 per month.
Plenty of education, training, and career advancement opportunities. Do you want to grow from Service Technician to Facilities Service Technician? Then we are happy to facilitate your growth and development!
Extra good reward: once every 9 weeks, you have a week of service duty. Our breakdowns can be counted on one hand annually. Still, you are guaranteed € 174.40 per week and an allowance of 128% to 184% for overtime.
A great team that stands ready for one another. With us, you work within a large professional organization, but feel the warmth of a small, close-knit company.
Working with top-quality tools, comfortable workwear, and a well-equipped van. With us, everything is well organized!
What makes this role truly special?
As a Facilities Service Technician (in training), you are not only technically skilled but also an important link in the development of yourself and your colleagues. You support technicians with complex issues, share your knowledge, and ensure that others can grow in their profession. At the same time, you yourself receive plenty of opportunities to further develop through education, training, and practical experience. Moreover, you are never alone: if desired, you will receive intensive guidance from colleagues. We also ensure that your education aligns perfectly with the work in practice. This way, you don't just learn from books, but apply your knowledge directly in the field. In this way, you continue to develop yourself within a varied, challenging, and future-oriented position.
Requirements
For one another!
With us, you don't just work for a company – you work for a family-like company. You notice that in everything. The atmosphere is professional, convivial, and familiar. “The processes, materials, work clothing, and means of transport are always well organized. Additionally, we take responsibility, we know each other, and we help each other. Or, as we say ourselves: we are there ‘for one another'.” You notice this supportive attitude not only in how people treat each other, but also in the work. “Because we are there for one another, we can deliver quality and ensure a pleasant working atmosphere – with room for a healthy dose of humor and conviviality. From day one, you feel at home at Van Dam Groep, thanks in part to the personal attention from both colleagues and management. It truly feels like a family business,” says Leon and William.
Furthermore, an entrepreneurial mentality prevails: we like to roll up our sleeves. You get the freedom here to make mistakes and learn from them. We think actively along with your development and value talent. Or as colleague Egbert puts it beautifully: “I once started as a Service Technician. Thanks to the growth opportunities within Van Dam Groep, I now fulfill the role of Facilities Team Leader. In short: much is possible within our company.”
