The role
Important: the internship period runs from 1 February 2027 up to and including 25 June 2027!
We are looking for a finance intern for our headquarters in Rotterdam. You will contribute to everything our finance team does, from the month-end closing to the analyses upon which we make decisions. You will report to our Head of Finance and work daily with the finance team and colleagues from our other departments.
Some weeks you will help with the month-end closing: you will check invoices, reconcile accounts, and investigate why a figure is incorrect. Other weeks you will perform an analysis of margins per product or calculate a business case for a new Foodstore. You will work on the daily figures and, at the same time, on the larger questions.
Our short-term goal: a month-end closing that runs faster and tighter, and reports that our Finance team can use to steer immediately. By the end of your internship, you will have completed your own project that continues to run after you are gone. Upfront is growing fast, so every analysis you make is truly used. You are the owner of your own work, from the very first week.
What you'll do
Supporting daily operations, professionalization, and the audit
Perform analyses of margins, costs, and revenue per channel
Calculate business cases for new products, stores, and investments
Build and improve reports
Investigate processes that are manual and make them smarter
Drive your own internship project, from question to result
Hard requirements
And perhaps the best part: freedom
And perhaps the most beautiful: the freedom. You decide for yourself how to approach your work. Within your field, you are the expert, and that is how we treat you. We love to give you the space to come up with and implement your own ideas.
